I've been thinking about this horse, and he ticks alot of boxes for the 3 miler for me. I know some folks would only back a 7 y/o for this race, but i'm not one for stats. I've backed him @ 14/1, and now i obviously hope he turns up. I'm not anticipating a good going.
I think Gd/sft would do the trick. As long as there's a bit of juice in the ground. I'm thinking along the lines of this horse being more RSA ready at this stage of his career than some of his proposed rivals. He's tough, he will stay and he has experience that maybe one or two others lack. I'll be satisfied if he gets there.

I agree with you Graeme. Carlingford Lough has put up the best performance on this side of the water thus far. As you say he has more experience than the others which would stand to him at Cheltenham. I'm on Ballycasey as you know but am worried that he's only had one run over fences at this stage.

Days are passing quick Tommy. Before you know it we will be into February, so you'd really want Ballycasey to run in the Moriarty. I really like Morning Assembly, but i don't know if he would learn enough from one more run. His jumping is a bit catious at this stage. He has a bright future ahead of him though. I think he needs another 2 runs beforehand. Carlingford Lough to me might just be about to take this race at the right time(if he turns up)

Its a big day for big chief graeme and my opressed trible of CL followers. I was hoping he would go straight to the rsa, but we will see what happens. It will take a good one to beat him.

Big chief Graeme have a saying for Ballydoyle. The man with the big mouth gives his enemies a bigger target to hit. Once upon a time my ancestors were chasing a man through the forrest. The man was known as 'the great Kalula'. He was surrounded, and he quaked with fear as all of my ancestors and their trible surrounded him, all with man made spears glistening off the sun, as the sound of hooves slowly halted to an eventual standstill. My grandfather, big chief 'Outsider the redeye' walked up to Kalula and said, now that i have found you, you will be hung from your mouth. Kalula crossed his arms across his chest like a woman whos teets have been unexpectably exposed, as he clutched onto his own toungue, and curled into a ball beside an uprooted tree. All of the hunters started laughing, and took pitty on Kalula. They all began to slowly head west en-mass, even big chief outsider himself did too, before doubling back and walking towards the intended target. Kalula said "i thought you were going to hang me by my mouth", to which chief Outsider the redeye replied, "i will let you live, and in living you will talk, and by talking you will hang your own self by your own mouth".
