the shops are useless, I do an oddschecker, like the price then go to the shop to be told the odds in shop are less than online, because they have less overheads. fcukin pointless!!!! there is only the machines keeping them going these days.....

Strongly disagree, i bet in shops, in fact 90% of all my bets are placed in shop using ep's, where as above, shop prices can differ from online, day to day, every company is different. Stan James for e.g are nearly never the same, but it does work both ways with them, their shops prices are often very slow to react to market changes so one can take advantage, in fact it is usually my local stan's shop manager often emailing their odds compilers when he spots one. Laddies and Hills are quite good where i would say most online prices are the same as in shops, i am not too sure about korals and baldys are just as bad as Stan's but are quick to react. Stans do have a website where you can view shop prices, http://www.stanjamesshops.com/
My local Stan James also offer best price in the village, thats top price between Hills, Korals or Lads as well as bog on board prices. This is where i predominantly go.
I do not have any knowledge of any other firms.
Above is day to day racing prices.
About 95% of my antepost is placed in shops, where i would have to say with almost every firm their antepost prices are 99% the same as online. Only very occasionally have they differed and when they have its only been with Stans or Baldys in my experience.
Of course all rules regarding the placement of bets are exactly the same, stans do offer bog to all UK and Irish horse racing board prices nowadays so betting within 5 minutes of a post time which is what most people do these days anyways using the show from the course online or in shop are the same.

Depends what shop you are in, plenty of PP specials are just available in the shops. Easier to dodge restrictions by moving around in shops also. You need every weapon in the arsenal. Often shops you can spread the money around and get more on than your online limit.
Ladcrooks golden lock in often available only in shops and for more money if you can find a right person behind the till. Any ante-post player needs the shops in some degree.

Yeah i just clicked onto it as well, does seem to be rather out of date on some selections but not on others. Think im heading off to my local shop in the morning now to question some of them prices. Its as i said above, this happens often on the day to day stuff when they slow to react you can get laid out of date prices and get paid on them too. Though i think on that case of Hinterland etc it is just a website error where they have failed to keep up updating on some, just not all.
Not unlike Chis-holms, you can sometimes get on price wise and H.Taylor etc quite easily within a couple minutes of them going public, if your in that sort of game, then easily lay off on here for nice tidy profits! Know of a few that do that reg! Inc the manager of my local shop (he does it with chizzys of course, slightly illegal with the company you work for) but many times hes told me of a fair few out of line bets, i.e 11/2 about a 4/1 general chance etc.

actually my comment was aimed at stanjames my local as its useless, why walk the 200 or so yards when I can get a 7-2 online to the 3-1 in the shop, say it again pointless, useless....

id like to do business with my local stan james more but find their pricing on races compared to other firms as rather tight or shrewd as some would put it, especially antepost

In what way did that tickle you i am wondering or is it that you just didnt understand the comment? Let me explain
best price in the village means that they will match any price if better than them from all competitors in the same town using oddschecker. So you see, by walking into that particular stan james shop, you can get on hills, lads or korals online prices IF they are better than SJ's in shop prices. 9/10 they are but on occasions they are not so you see your not really losing out that much. It also gives one the option, bet online with the risk to being restricted or shut down, or place your bets in shop with very little chance of this happening! One can even spread their staking around too in my area with considerable ease what with the amount of shops there are in a small area!
I called it 'best price in the village' cos that is as it is advertised in that shop too lol, i think i kinda just got the joke as i typed the above out lol.

Is that aimed at your own personal local or stan james as a hole? Cos without trying to sound like i am sticking up for the company, as i know as a whole they are quite useless as i have already described above with their pricing, my particular local is actually very good as also described above
