I wasn't aware of that. Any reason behind that?

They feel its a gruelling race too early for them and dont want to ruin nice young horses

Im sure they'll prob change their mind someday but its workin for em so far keepin em away from it!

I've had a mare here, he's already had a run over hurdles aswell. Either way he really looks like one for the future and one I'll follow with interest.

"I doubt he'll (Un Atout) be going to Cheltenham anyway," said O'Leary.

"We have the first two in the betting for the Champion Bumper with Un Atout and Don Cossack but unless something seriously changes, I don't think either of them will be going.

"It's just a race we don't particularly like as we think it can ruin a good young horse."

It didn't do cue card or champagne fever any harm. It just depends on the horse.

Henderson doesn't fancy running horses in it either. I don't agree with it all. It's two miles around a racetrack. How bad can it be? I know it can be rough in such a big field but that can happen in all Bumpers. Same in the Triumph and horses there are young too.

The vast majority of Giggy horses are proper chasing types,i don't blame them for not wanting to run their horses in the Champion Bumper,it's only a novelty race.

Does anyone know the plan for No More Heroes? Punchestown Bumper?

Surely Gigginstown should reconsider their stance on the Champion Bumper.

I would say he will be going back hurdling, and maybe straight to fences next season. That was a terrible bumper he won, and he is crying out for a trip on soft ground. He wouldn't be mapped at Chelt.

No More Heroes entered for the Bumper on Thyestes day at Gowran Park. Black Hercules also entered. I don't know what the form of the No More Heroes Bumper win at Christmas is like but I know it's typically a strong Bumper. He blew them away and 2m 4f shows he won't lack in the staying department. Surely Gigginstown must run him at Cheltenham if he wins on Thursday.
