yep,shame you can only have 1 nrfb per horse as ive already done him nrfb for the Arkle.
Mind you he relishes the 2m trip judging by his runs thus far over fences.
One of us will get a run I should think,and one of us will get a free bet.
Not sure which ones which though!! Nor does his trainer I suspect.

I've gone for 10/1 champagne fever jewson because already got felix yonger with bet victor arkle @ 16/1. Hopefully they will run in them races, but really am only expecting a couple of free bets but hey.

Goona run for a bit longer after yesterdays inconclusive runs by both horses.

Felix Yonger is an Arkle horse and if CF was not in the stable,there would be no question as to where he is running.Different Owners so should be running in the race he is best suited to.

Why was he racing over 2m 3f at a naff,tight track (Limerick) with €23750 for the winner when there was a 2 mile(almost most important) race with €55,000 for the winner and €17,000 for the second being fought out by 2 horses he had trounced over 2 miles.

Well im a tad more hopeful of CF in Jewson and FY in Arkle after reading Mullins latest comments.

We had all this with Champagne Fever throughout January and February this year. The Neptune and the Albert Bartlett looked far more likely than the Supreme. Lo and behold he ends up winning the Supreme. It's pure guesswork where these horses will end up. The trainer is going to keep on changing his mind too.

How he ran Felix Yonger over 2m 3f at Limerick for a fraction of the prize money that was fought out out by 2 horses (that he had hammered)over 2 miles at Leopardstown is a disgrace?

Bearing in mind that he said after his last run that FY should remain at 2 miles.

Biggest Criticism of Willie Mullins is that he trains the horses as if he owns them himself and not place him in the race that best suits.

DJ, if you trained horses and thought you had two good novice chasers, would you put them in the same race or try to win two different races?

If you owned Felix Yonger and your trainer states that he should remain at 2 miles and then runs his next race over 2m 3f at a kip of a track for a fraction of the prize money while 2 horses that you have hammered over 2 miles fight out the big prize,would you be annoyed??

Nicholls and Ruby did the same to Wylie last year with Tidal Bay before he got injured(had persuaded him to run in stayers hurdle rather then Gold Cup because they had Silvniani Conti and no bucks around)

I think its impossible to take literal form lines from the races too. Defy Logic is apparently better going left handed and his trainer knew he would come on from his defeat by Felix. Defy Logic needs soft ground, softer the better, so the RP novice chase and the Irish Arkle are probably his 2 main targets this season.

When Felix defeated Trifolium, Trifolium made the running and set the race up for Felix. In the RP novice chase Trifolium sat off the fast pace set by Defy Logic and Champagne fever and closed towards the finish. Flattering himself by not getting involved early.

If WPM told  me, the owner, that in his opinion Felix Yonger can not beat Champagne but believes he would have a chance in the Jewson, then I would trust him. That is why you pay trainers.

Some fair points there Brandy but Felix can only beat what is put in front of him.  Defy Logic had had a run when FY beat him so was match fit against a first time out horse also.  WPM may also believe he knows which horse is superior, however, track form and home form can be completely different and the clear evidence on the track and in chases is that FY is the best 2miler we've seen this season IMO.

Probably those who have been backing the ridiculously priced fav for the Arkle the last few months,and are now getting a tad worried!!

Like i say none of us know what has been said behind closed doors.

What we have seen on the track, certainly Felix Yonger has the better form. But the way the 2 horses have been campaigned over Christmas then its obvious which one had been thought of as the number 1.

I have not had a bet on the race yet, but if Champagne is their representative in the Irish Arkle then i will bet him for the Arkle at Cheltenham. I was impressed with him the last day.

Just watched this Neptune run again, and I didn't realise how well he travelled through the race and made great headway from the rear, and I don't think anything could have lived with Simonsig that day; he just didn't have that much left when turning for home when Simonsig kicked on.

He was my Jewson horse at the start of the year, but now I think he should be in the Arkle, whether Champagne Fever is there or not.

Since Willie has taken him over from Howard Johnson, he's had 4 runs at 18 furlongs or less and won all 4.  He's had 5 at 19 furlongs or more and has won only 1.  2 of those 5 were G1 races at Cheltenham and Punchestown, but even without them, he's 1 out of 3.
