In the Weekender over the past few weeks Alan King has been very bullish about this one and “is very excited by him” had a superb gallop last Monday at Newbury apparently.

One of the best juveniles season before last, closely matched with Countrywide Flame who finished 3rd in this years Champion Hurdle. Plan is to start out in the Fighting Fifth next Saturday.

Anyone have any views / thoughts on what this one could achieve this year?

Not sure how far to the top he can go, but I have backed him ante-post for the FF at 12/1 eachway. Despite having form figures of 13 at Cheltenham he hurdles far more fluently and slickly on flatter tracks, just look at the errors he makes in the Triumph compared with his smooth wins at Kempton/Aintree.  NJH got Binocular beeaten twice at Newcastle before so it makes sense at the prices.

Melodic Rendezvous won nicely last time out, though Far West let the form down yesterday.

Yes, he does need to be slicker, I do recall him flattening the last in the Triumph. 12/1 could look good, race will cut up I think.
