Tuesday is the best day with that huge ejaculation of punting energy Excited.... best race is the Gold Cup, end of thread.

Really like the Arkle because a beast of real talent always seem come out of it..... as they seem to do in the 2m5f novice hurdle...... heck, all the grade one races are awesome! Happy.

I enjoy the 2 mile races the most. Supreme, Champion Hurdle, Arkle & Champion Chase. I'd say the Champion Hurdle is probably my fav race.

To me the Gold Cup is the pinnacle of NH racing as that's ultimately what the horses are aspiring to. All hurdlers there's the question but can he jump a fence, All novices there's the question of how they'll do against the big boys and if they win at lesser trips then there's the question can they stay the GC trip.

So the ultimate race is the Gold Cup.......nothing else is remotely close.

The Supreme without a doubt. The first, generally most competitive and often most anticipated. Can't beat the noise as they go off and another year starts again!

Supreme - most anticipated yes, noise yes, best no way.

Well 'best' is a very subjective term...

I'd always thought of best as the the absolute pinnacle of for the sport. For golf its the majors, for soccer its the CL and World Cup final and so on. For jumps its Chelt and for hurdling it the CH and for Chasing its the GC and as hurdling is mostly seen as a precursor for chasing the GC is by logic the most important and best race.

I may be a little biased in that I only bet chasers but nonetheless I think the argument is very sound.

Thread closed then. It's the CH or the GC!

Nothing to see here!

i'm biased to staying chasers, so it has to be the gold cup

also like champion hurdle. ryanair and queen mother but a lot of races don't linger in the memory anymore since the regrettable decision to bloat the festival with a 4th day
