love this beast and did me BIG favour last year (twice)...took all the 5s i could get...cannot see this getting beat,what u lads think

Is he definitely staying over hurdles ? If yes, he has a great chance to "change the guard" in long distance hurdling and he is 3/3 round Cheltenham. Biggest threat in my thinking is Zarkandar. Of course if Big Bucks comes back 90% he has to be considered but there has to be a risk to that happening.

think bb's best days are over him...cant argue with his record ,i just think they were getting closer to him 2 years ago and fishers is a serious horse...good luck all

was really thinking about his 1 3/4 lengths he had to spare over voler la vedette on last world hurdle run,i realise he did the business after at aintree and newbury but these are always weaker races and also at fishers cross much more potential than recent contenders...thats all

I like this horse and had one of my biggest ever bets on him at the festival last year as the quality of the field and ground conditions made him a shoe in for me but I can't back him ante post for the world hurdle. Rebecca said last year he needs cut in the ground and would he even run if it was a good ground festival let alone be competitive against the likes of bucks, zark and solwhit???

It really makes me laugh when people say that they never come back after an injury. Some do and some do not, quite simple really. Good point although I suspect the don't have it. Marthas son good example years ago won the champion chase after injury |

OK for what it is worth..............I followed At Fishers Cross every race after its win at Ffos las last season where it pretty much didn't jump a hurdle. My theory was that once it got its act together it would be a good horse. If you watch AP in every race you will notice a couple of things. One - he is extremely confident of the horses ability. Two - every time AP asks him to quicken he does.Its just a little movement of his hands where asks the horse for more. Every time the horse responds. Watch them come down the hill at Cheltenham. AP asks him to quicken and he just cruises up. There is much more to come from him at 6.

He is without doubt, one of the most exciting horses coming out of novice company.
At the moment though, I could not have him ahead of Solwhit in the betting, who did nothing wrong last season. I was really surprised with Solwhit's improvement for the step up in trip, and think there is more to come from him, despite his age. At Fishers Cross has looked impressive, especially his victory over The New One at HQ, but I think if they ran that race 10 more times, The New One would win nearly every time. I think it was a combination of a poor ride and ground conditions got the New One beat that day. My only concern with At Fishers Cross is that the Albert Bartlett was really poor, and he was entitled to win it fairly easily. That's not a knock against the horse, but would like to see him over 3m against some proper opposition before even considering taking 5/1 for the World Hurdle. |
