The 2014 World Hurdle, to my eye, looks to be one of the best ever - the strength in depth looks superb.

Big Buck's, At Fishers Cross, Solwhit, Zarkandar, Reve De Sivola, Countrywide Flame, Celestial Halo

As well as some mouth watering 'possibles' - Quevega, Tidal Bay and Gemix.

Whatever happens, I'll be backing Big Buck's who has made me a small fortune over the years, but he has an almost impossible task - to beat the greatest field he's ever faced after a 16 month break.

It cant be the best if there is no Bucks. It is not an impossible task if he is fit and well. Only a few can get that 3m+ plus that hill. For that type of racer he is not old. The bookies and their media friends will blow up the rest just like with the champion hurdle pretenders. We keep hearing how poor a horse Thousand Stars is every time The Fly murders him and when TNO beats him 1 1/4 lengths he TNO is brilliant. Likewise Our Connor a 4yo beats trees and is the next coming. Beware of false prophets.

Bog Warrior would have sluiced up this year if he hadn't broken his leg IMO. Shame we may never see him again, and even if he does run again is unlikely to get his ground at Chelts.

solwhit on his own will give BB plenty to think about, top class 2 miler and carrying all that quality over 3 miles.

I agree Solwhit is top class but if they ride the same race with BB as in 2012 when with the help of Katie the taps were turned on from about half way and that took care of any flashy 2 milers. The question is has Ruby been retained for him as no one else knows/can ride him better. It was stated that he would have no run before the festival which would be crazy.

Would not call Solwhit a flashy 2 miler myself, more like a stayer that was good enough to pick up some decent 2 mile races in the past.
For the reason Duffy states, hes a major player again.
