£50 e-w on Cue Card for the Champion Chase in Jan under their "non runner free bet" offer. I then found out that if your selection does not run you immediately lose the place bet. Ok I thought, I can live with that as I should have read the small print in their T&Cs, but who does? On Wednesday I put the £50 on Back In Focus at 11-4. Ya beauty. £187.50 back, or so I thought. WRONG. £137.50 returned. The £50 free bet was in "promo money" so I lose the stake that I gave them. I dare say there will be a few out there that had the same. My advise, close your account.
What part of non runner free bet do you not understand? Learn to read, the offer was very fair you gained £137.50 from a non runner that with any other firm you would have received £0

I'm no fan of Vic in general, but I don't know how you can complain if you didn't read the rules.
You didn't automatically lose the place part of your non runner bet, you lost £50 because the terms said that a maximum of £50 PER HORSE would be refunded, e.g. if you wanted an e/w bet on Cue Card you could have had £25 e/w on a him and you'd get the full £50 back.
Plus it also stated the refund would be in promo cash (I don't know of many bookmakers that return promo cash with your winnings) rather than straight money.
Come on lads, the bookies dream up these things specifically to catch people out, you're making it easy for them.

Tucho, I did admit to not reading the T&Cs and I agree these bookmaker chaps dream up ideas that will, ultimately, benefit them. I was pi ssed off with their interpretation of "FREE BET" when it patently was there to mislead. Anyway the account is closed and Vic can shove it. Another moan. Korals. How long can it take to answer their phone? I waited 15mins, honestly, about 30mins before racing on GC day and still did not get through. Was gonna have the £50 I had lying ot At Fishers Cross. However, as luch would have it, by the time I eventually got through, I put it On Bobs Worth. I usually bet with 365 and it will ring no more than twice.

coral's website was down for most of the week so the phone lines would probably have gone crazy, with loads of online punters trying to get their bets on

Corals were a joke for most of the festival. I tried a couple of times on the phone without success and their website still hadn't recovered properly even yesterday from being down following the Sprinter Sacre rush by all the matched bettors getting their 20 quids back. Their website is horrendous at the best of times. You're about an even money shot to be lucky enough that the horse you click on will actually go on the betting slip. There are some dire sites out there at the mo and Corals are easily the worst of the bunch.
One good thing though was that their first race offer over day 1 and 2 did give you £10 proper cashback rather than a free bet. As said above, very few do that and it is a bit of a scam, but PP and dare I say it, Betfair are very good in that respect.

Not sure why the confusion? Money Back = money back, Free Bet = free bet. Still think is a good deal but would regard the re-investment money as being at a point short. As such is more suitable for reinvesting in longer odds selections than shorter odds as you are losing less of your margin. As I understand it the free bet could be split too so no problem if you wanted several bets at smaller stakes either.
I'd love to have a VC account again, was one of my favourites before they closed it down. Never had an issue with at least a reasonable stake and they stood pretty big losses before they closed it.

The VC offer helped me a heck of a lot,had a few non runners during the week, and by splitting it into different bets had some winners with the free bets, and did not have to use any money from my bank account last 2 days. Already looking at the big 4 races for next March!!

Judo. Do you really see Cue Card going GC route or are you just having a tickle now in case with the free bet as the fallback?
Surely going to be going Ryanair again?

That's why he's 25s because everyone assumes he's going Ryan Air but I think they have every reason to try again next Autumn. If they got good ground they have already said they would like another go at the King George and they will front run next time. The form with both BW and FL shows that he is right at the very top of the current crop so why wouldn't you have a go is my argument. The Gold Cup is worth double the Ryan Air and you may never own another horse good enough to run in the race let alone be considered capable of winning.
If he were mine I would be telling the trainer to map out a route from Gold Cup 2014 to today with an entry in the Ryan Air as a back up. I personally wrote off the King George as it was totally not his running (lit up, mistakes early, ran with choke out, no horse would have a chance of getting the trip like that let alone on their first run at 3 miles).
I definitely think he is good enough it's just whether he stays. Needs good ground and I would have a go at the Betfair Bowl where he would have a class edge over the likes of Hunt Ball et al, would like get good ground and probably get to front run. The horse is as fit as a flee so it would make sense to try it now rather than when he comes in from the summer when he won't be as fit as he is now. And of course that information would help form the plan from Aintree to Cheltenham 2014.

I had 25 each way jetson 16-1 1/4 odds a place, thought I would get 100 pounds back, but they took the win part of the promo out of the return.125 return minus 50 promo, return 75,thought that was very unfair.
