So,Sunnyhillboy is a non runner having developed a sore throat over night freeing up JP McManus's retained jockey to ride the Mullins trained Sir Des Champs

Unfortunately for Messrs Mullins and Ricci their Ballycasey has developed some issue and will not now compete against JP McManus's At Fishers Cross in the Albert Bartlett for which he was second favorite

More fool the Riccis if that's the case......AP is the biggest winner in all of this.

Where do Gigginstown fit in on the conspiracey ?
Report sintonian March 15, 2013 12:00 PM GMT
What do the Ricci's have to do with anything?

Jeez, even if this is all at face value, some tabloid hack is going to love this: "Fatcat Barclays Banker and Ryannair boss conspire with legendary gambler to fleece punters". Almost a who's who of their favourite targets

Mullins trains SDC - he and Gigginstown want McCoy on board. First they need to get JP McManus to withdraw Sunnyhillboy. McManus says 'OK I'll do that if in return you do me a favour and withdraw the main danger to At Fishers Cross'.
Mullins has to get permisson from Ricci to withdraw Ballycasey - Ricci gives permission and the whole rancid scenario gets completed.

shame that some were not able to join the dots from the OP without the need for unclepuncle's concise and accurate explanation

as I am heavily involved with both At Fishers Cross and SDC I am both pleased and nervous

the way mccoy has been riding id be nervous

It makes sense. Ricci has absolutely no interest in the Gold Cup, so what better to do that to pull out one of your best hopes of the festival so that erm....let me think....yeah so that McCoy and Mullins can help a Gigginstown horse. It makes perfect sense.....not.
Report SoYouThink March 15, 2013 12:38 PM GMT
Essentially, the Riccis and McManus have both agreed to take their horses out in the interests of a Gigginstown.

How does either Ricci/McManus profit from this?
Report duffy March 15, 2013 12:40 PM GMT
When mullins is supposed to go to ricci and say about withdrawing ballycasey...wouldn't ricci's reply have been, yep no probs willie, you can withdraw the rest of my horses from your yard while you're at it!!

why is it a shame Judo? I you believe a hard nosed banker who invest millions in bloodstock just so he can have Cheltenham Festival would then withdraw one of his to benefit someone then that is very delusional indeed.

Anyone who believes needs cleaning with a baby wipe.
