Southern part of M25 to M40

At Oxford pick up the A road (forget the number) to Cheltenham

allow 4 hours

nah - the route is m25 past gatwick, m4 to swindon and then the a417 into cheltenham.

go the m40 and a40 route and you'll be longer on the m25 on a friday (bad news) and on the single carriageway A40 between oxford and cheltenham (bad news).

3.5 hours my route, 4 - 4.5 the other way.

Agree with dibble. But after digging my car out on Tuesday morning, then waiting for the sun to come out about 1pm so the ice would melt and allow me to get out, I was far too late to get to Cheltenham. Anyway good luck tomorrow, with the crowds anticipated, I wouldn't bother. You might see me on the way home on the other side of the M4.

Whatever you do, leave at around 6.30am, as you need to be there by 10.00/10.30, to get a parking space, near to the course.
