Hi,

I had a bet on 'Your Tent Or Mine' yesterday with Boyles and they had an offer 'cashback if your horse finishes 2nd when beaten by up to 1/2 a length' which it was. My bet wasn't refunded. I talked to CS and this is the last thing they said

We do reserve the right to remove all special offers and cashback offers without prior notice

We dont have to inform customers as we can remove the offers without prior notice

you don't have to inform customers that the offers you are presenting to them do not actually apply to them?

    Yes that is correct

Is this industry standard? It feels a lot like false advertising to me. If i had been told then that's fine, but I hadn't -  'It would appear that at the time your account was restricted from special offers, we were not communicating this directly with clients'

I don't mind being restricted, but I had this bet with them because of the offer and I would have given them some losers if they had refunded me that bet as they ought to. I don't arb and i'm not winning - all genuine bets that were available at other bookies.

What do you think?

They are out of order and in the wrong. Simple as that.

Threaten them with IBAS. If they dont budge then go to IBAS.

Well out of order. I have just had a text off them advertising how they refunded on my tent or yours.

It's certainly not industry standard, most firms have the basic decency to let you know if you're no longer eligible for their promotions, victor, bet356 and many others certainly send you an email after one too many promotions letting you know you don't qualify anymore.

It's incredibly harsh of boyles to exclude you from this without even bothering to tell you, but sadly it's not anything out of the ordinary with that firm, one of the dirtiest out there.

I doubt you'll see the cash again sorry.

lots of firms exclude you from special offers if you dont lose with them on a monthly basis. If you take advantage of " new customers only " offers when opening accounts and dont use them again until something like this takes you eye they exclude you but dont inform you. Sky did it with me on something similar

This was my experience with them recently

I recall Tote website restricting me from BOGs but it told me every single time I place a bet.  That was in the good old days though before that bald rag was gifted it.  Since then stakes too restricted to even bother :(  Victor closed me down completely, Hills too limited stakes to zero immediately after taking 20/1 for Imperial Commander for 2010 Gold Cup, 365 let me take a substantial sum off them before heavily restricting,  Laddies I hadn't even had the temerity to back a winner before they restricted the last account, I can have 60 pence on anything I like at Stan James and don't get me started on Boils or sky...  Blue Square can still get a worthwhile part stake on  and sometimes at Paddy. Apart from them and a couple of new accounts I can hardly get a bet on other than on here.

Bad form by ****. How do bookmakers think they can do these things and get away with them?

I had a similar experience and wrote to the ASA.

http://www.asa.org.uk/Consumers/How-to-complain.aspx

Go through this link and provide all the information you can, they will contact them and you'll get your money.  Doesn't cost anything and takes no time, they will communicate everything they do with you too.  Brilliant service.

Good luck.

And in future use Bet 365 for your non Betfair punts.  From my experience they are brilliant, quick payouts, money from withdrawals in my account the next day, live chat hardly ever has a wait.

Completely disagree steview84. I bet on the Utd/Real match with 365 cos of the matched in running bet. Put £50 on Real to qualify before KO and then tried to put another £50 in running. Restricted to £33 @ 10/11. Contacted them the next morning and they said thats all I was allowed on that market. I went into one and they offered £15 bonus cash as a gesture of goodwill. Told them to stick it and I wanted £15.45 cash paid into my account. They said they would do it but I wasn't allowed any bonus bet anymore!

They ran away with their ball!!!
