I think so. Probably the best I've seen. Sizing stumbled badly on the home turn and lost a few lengths, but all that really does is show that he was still at or close to his best, as he beat the rest 6l and more and it would have been double that. The way the two of them came clear down the hill was a terrific sight. I wish BG had pushed the winner out.

If they did run him in handicaps - not that they will as Henderson is conservative at best but ridiculously protective of his stars - he would probably be a horse to change the handicap rules in the way that arkle did. There isn't a horse in training he would have any difficulty giving 24lb to. The size of him, he would find giving weight away easier than most.

No Sprinter, did actually win very very very easily and never came out of a hack canter, whoever comes up against him, will go the same way as SE did today. Awesome Horse.

For those who want to crab the monster carry on. If you can't appreciate class when you see it, don't look. I was there today and felt priveledged to witness this occasion. Comparisons with past greats are largely irrelevant. How good is he? Who knows. Have I ever seen a better jumper of a steeplechase fence in a championship race....no. Fastest run race of the day hard on the steel...draw your own conclusions.

I was quite surprised that simonsig was only under 2 seconds slower seeing as the ground rode slower yesterday. SS could of won by further today mind you and I do believe SS is a 190 rated horse, Just wish he was running against a horse at his peak 7 8 or 9. Sizing Europe ain't as quick as he used to be and that's really down to him being the age he is. Still ran a big race though but the horses in behind aren't top class grade 1 horses tbh.

I get the impression they'll stay two miles next year to regain his crown then the follwing year, they could well take in the King George along the way.

Not today though, the horse didn't jump well, the difference with him is that he has such a massive engine that it doesn't stop him one bit.

imo think Kauto's jumping later on in his career was more impressive, his 2nd gold cup was electric. Sprinter Sacre ain't the most fluent, can't understand why people say he's the best jumper of a fence they've ever seen. Thought Master Minded looked much more natural aswell.

There's probably lots better jumpers of a fence, best mate flemenstar would be two off the top of my head just for starters.

Kauto was on the deck twice in his novice season and nearly on several other occasions, even over extended trips when they were going a lot slower. Not sure how you can draw your conclusion.

Best Mate for me, was the best jumper of a fence, I have seen, he made 1 mistake, throughout his career and that was at the 3rd last, at the November meeting at Cheltenham in his Novice year. Very quick too at his fences, was Best Mate.

nicky looked like a 6 yr old child that had just found out his puppy hadnt been drowned when SS jumped the last, he,s got a plan for this horse and it aint the 2m division imo

He said over and over again that he''s a 2 miler. I don't necessarily agree with him, but think t will be a long while before he tried any other trip, if he ever does.

I think he's an outstanding jumper. Best Mate was great, in that he was very fluent - which is what you want for a stayer. Jumping at the pace they were going coming down the hill today is totally different though, I don't think you can ever say any 3 miler compares with the top 2m horses. Sizing Europe is a pretty good jumper too. Sprinter Sacre is exceptional in terms of the individual jumps he's capable of. The one coming down the hill in the Arkle was just unbelievable, I've never seen anything like that, even at Aintree.

May go to Punchestown next and then same again next season according to his trainer.
Looks like he will stay at 2m for the foreseeable, maybe always.
And fair enough imo,no need to step up when you can win those races with ease every year.
Only Flemenstar i can think of now that may give him a race, now that SE has obviously got too old.

Kauto and Master Minded were fluent, one motion, I said later in Kauto's career If you'd care to read! Kauto was all one motion later on and put in some breath taking leaps standing way out the wings just watch Kauto's second gold cup just poetry, 3 milers especially in the King George don't go that much slower than 2 milers it's practically going 2 mile pace but you have to slog out another mile. Sprinter Sacre has the best engine I've seen in a 2 miler, but he ain't the best jumper.
