His ability to stay and fight up the hill is the unknown for me. I have backed him antepost on the basis of his impressive jumping, must have a chance in an open race.

nicholls seems to think the hill will he no problem ,got this one all wrong early in the season thought he would go king george and backed him accordingly missed the decent ap prices for him in the gold cup but may get it all back on friday !

i feel SC has a better profile than Bobs Worth, a RFC on SDC AND SC is my call. I can see them kneck and kneck at the last....who will stay best?

His races this year have been non events really, but i do agree he could be a superstar.
Not my main bet in this race, but i have started putting a few savers on him. PN and RW rate this horse very very highly |

lack of festival or even a cheltenham chase does it for me

Tidal Bay was their No1, would have gone close on this ground. His bet365 win last year and lexus at xmas was outstanding!
|
|
By:
dont think tidal bay was ever their no.1 they had this one earmarked for the gold cup early last season ,judo, bit of a worry no chelt chase form but if connections dont see it as a major problem then that will do for me !
|
|
By:
connections always put positive spin on things
they are hardly likely to come out and say "well we know that lack of chase experience and never having run at the Festival are major negatives and we are really in the dark about how he will handle the hill..." now are they? |

This is my only real risk now First Lieutenant is deffo for Ryanair.
I even covered Flemenstar on NRNB as soon as that was available with the sponsor. I actually saw that race at haydock with Long Run and it was not a performance from which you could draw a thing. Ruby did what he does and worked out the race and strolled home in what amounted to a 1 mile canter. Lack of Cheltenham form always big for me and whilst Bobsworth is my biggest winner I think SDC will outstay them all. Look at him finishing in Lexus. Can not see my mind changing before Friday. Either way, we will all know by then. |
