With the ground at Cheltenham increasingly unlikely to be any better than soft on Thursday, the case for SOLWHIT in the World Hurdle is becoming ever more compelling and now looks an opportune moment to step in. One of only five horses to have beaten Hurricane Fly over hurdles, this six-time Grade 1 winner looks to have returned practically as good as ever following a lengthy spell on the sidelines and the form of his defeat of So Young at Naas last time was handsomely boosted by the latter’s subsequent Red Mills Hurdle success. The big question mark is the trip as he has never even competed over three miles but it is encouraging that he was such a strong stayer on the flat, and granted a patient ride I am optimistic that he will see it out.
Brilliant solwhit, lovely horse, I backed him at 100/1 for the world hurdle...last years world hurdle that is....brilliant horse though and deserves to win this.
