Vasco Du Ronceray - Triumph Hurdle

I think this horse could be the winner of the Anniversary Juvenile Hurdle at Aintree as he seemed to like the going and flat track

The other Hendo horse that won at Cheltenham looks the Triumph candidate from Hendo

Cant see it beating any of the top 3 in the market, form of all has a very solid look. Dont see them all having an off day.

Hendo sent Une Artiste, who was also second in the Adonis, to the Fred Winter and it won at 40/1. If this one goes there I will be on

Any idea which race at Chelters this lad will be aimed at??  Needs a really fast run two mile to be seen at his best and i'm sure the drying ground will suit this smooth traveller. Seems to be not overburdened weight wise in the Fred Winter and the big field should enable Barry to get him plenty of cover early on in the contest. Trainer and owner caused a shock in winning the same race last year but judging by Barry Geraghtys comments in last saturdays ATR column i'm sure they think this lad has more class than Une Artiste. If he was certain to go for the Fred Winter i could see him going off 7/2 of 4s. Remember Vendor started 3/1 fav for this race last year and his form at this stage last year does not even begin to compare with Vasco's at this stage of proceedings and with more improvement likely with the reasons given above i think it's well worth taking a chance at 12/1 that connections go down the Fred Winter route. Here's hoping any way!!!!!!! :)

Obviously luck in running will play a part as always but if Hendo decides to take the softer option i really think Vasco will take all the beating. The form of Ptit Zigs and Saphir du Rheu's latest wins have worked out horribly and Fatcatinthehat and Bordoni would give Vasco a good trail into the race. Can see him (Vasco Du Ronceray) cruising into contention swinging for home. Just hope when BG asks him for one final effort he can put enough of a gap between himself and his pursuers on the climb to the line. If you watch his last 2 runs he basically carts his jockey along till the latter stages when tiredness eventually sets in due to not settling due to the small fields.  Think he would struggle to hold off the main protaganists in the Truimph but truely believe he'd have enough speed/class to win a Fred Winter. Very slick jumper also.  Just cant turn away from 12/1 although i loathe backing antepost. Just never seems to work out. The way i see it if he's given the green light for the Fred Winter 12/1 will look massive then. Come on Nicky. Nice Grade 3 to pick up. On ya go............. 

High enough mark to run in a FW you would think he'd have just as much chance in the Triumph if he can win off that mark. Ido like the horse though have a bit on him for thenTriumph. Think it will come a year too early for him needs to fill out into his frame.

Yeah looks that way at the moment alright. Still a bit of hope though. You never know.

Vasco out to 20/1 now for the Fred Winter. When will i ever learn. Antepost betting is generally a load of B0LL0X.   Only chance of nicking some value is if your connected. Trying to guess which race they go for is impossible.  For me anyway!!!!

Looks like it Jud. In hindsight that was probably always the plan. Aintree should suit to perfection. All in job!!!!

Nicky Henderson, trainer of Rolling Star and Vasco Du Ronceray “Rolling Star has done really well and I couldn’t be more pleased with him. He looks great, he’s working great and he’s schooling well. I think Vasco Du Ronceray will run too, as he’d be off 138 in the Fred Winter and his owner Simon Munir has Megalypos for that. I think he can improve on his Kempton second to Irish Saint.”

NH: I will probably run both Magalyphos and Vasco Du Ronceray in this. Megalyphos was unlucky in the Finale at Chepstow but it was a good run and his wind has since been done.

NH: This has been something of a lucky race for us down the years and Rolling Star and Vasco Du Ronceray look like they could represent us here. Rolling Star has come on since beating Irish Saint at Cheltenham and has a great temperament. The reason he hasn’t been out since then is that the owners wanted to keep the dream alive for as long as possible.

If Henderson told me today was Wednesday I am not sure I would believe him
