Impressive win today and needed to go up a few pounds to get a run at Cheltenham. Entered up in five races but reckon that they will go for the Byrne Plate - same connections won race last year with Salut Flo. Can see this being very well backed and going off favourite like Salut Flo. How many pounds do you think it will go up for winning today?

Enough to give them all the options. Personally, I think it will be the Grand Annual. Given how freely he raced the drop back in trip should suit in a race that usually has very few potential improvers. He saw the trip out well enough today but basically had the race won a mile out and it might be a different story in a more competitive race on a stiffer track.
Just take the 8/1 to win any Festival race with hills.

Me neither as unless you are suggesting lots of the 20+ runners each year have been potential improvers then you are emphasising the point I was trying to make.

Novices by their very definition are potential improvers.It doesn't matter how many of the runners are "potential improvers". The fact is the lightly raced sorts often produce the winner.
