used to buy this in the 80s and 90s before moving abroad - it was always informative and a good read, if still the same standard i'd rather spend 25 quid on this than 9.99 on the posts guide (probably rehashed articles that we've already seen over past few weeks)

the one Paul Jones does is the best, Wetherby's are sending it out today i think.

Stopped buying it a couple of years ago as I could never get my head round the nudge, nudge, wink, wink style it was written in, until just after they'd crossed the line.
Still buy the Post's and Jones's even though all the information is available for nothing. |

^ That's something I've always wondered...
I know Paul Jones has a big following and he obviously works very hard with his guide, but isn't it just the same every year? Surely the important stats are virtually identical, which makes me wonder how it sells so many copies each year... |

Tomdeane, Paul's is different as the stats are updated year by year and his in depth coverage of all the main players is second to none, plus he has some decent interviewee's. The book has had something of an overhaul this year but is still easily readable for those just looking for the key trends. At over 200 pages it is worth well the price and there are a couple of free bet offers available to new & existing customers.
I follow his stuff every year for Cheltenham and i've yet to make a loss. |
