I thought he was one of the more clear cut Neptune runners?
By:
Agree decent chance as well imo.
By:
me thinks so too...forgotten horse in race
By:
yes Neptune
what about the going? been winning on heavy |
By:
Won debut on good to soft. If I remember rightly, has a bit of a knee action though

I like him a lot for the Neptune. But as Judo points out an unknown on better ground, that's the only worry. I get the feeling that's why he's still the price he is. Although the ground wasn't that bad when he met MTOY.
If he handles the ground he has the ideal profile and If lining up would be much shorter than 10/1, great value tbh. |
By:
I don't understand why the ground is an unknown. His best form is on it!
By:
Yes form on heavy *may* be a concern, however its not entirely impossible it *might* be better on good ground, has good solid form lines and is kinda under the radar at the moment imho.

By:
Agree he has a great chance in the Neptune but only if AP is available to ride him.
By:
AP has nothin else in d race bar an outside poke or 2 so defo will b on TDS

By:
jp has 9 entered so its anyones guess

The challow hurdle winner,s record in the Neptune is shocking, even Denman got turned over after having the guts dragged out of it in deep winter ground at Newbury, last years winner fingal bay did not even make it to the Neptune but got beat at Aintree.BEWARE CHALLOW WINNERS AT CHELTENHAM

good point!
did Taquin run on the flat too? Just I vaguely remember the winners of the Neptune are nearly always NH types unraced on the flat |
By:
I believe so. I think he had about 4-5 runs already. Similar prep to First Lieutenant; early campaign, put away at Christmas then back fresh in the spring. Asides from that point about flat breds in the race, not clued on stats for this race. Not unduly worried about his knee action as he's clearly demonstrated he acts on good. Looks to have nice blend of speed and stamina.

By:
I have backed him the last twice so I'm in no rush to do so again in championship races
By:
Do you rate him Judo?
By:
I do rate him of course, just don't think he is right for the Neptune so having had a couple of touches already on him I will probably leave him for now.

Taking a walk in the market in the Neptune on here. Any news?
By:
Oops. Looking at the potato race in error. Apologies.
By:
He is really going to like the soft ground

Should be favorite going by MTOY's rating
By:
Cant wait for wednesday, reckon he will win easily
By:
no challow hurdle winner ever won the neptune iirc (0 from 13)
6/1 anyone? |
By:
that stat is pointless, you have to take every horse on its merits. a december race is often run in heavy ground and march its a lot quicker but the chances are that it will be soft.
Al Ferof finished 3rd in a challow and won the supreme, plenty of challow winners have been placed at the festival. |
