Is it really good enough to win either?
By:
Yes, you've done your money because Sprinter Sacre runs in the Queen Mother
![]() |
By:
Each-Way at a price!!
By:
Fair enough!
Hope he does run in the Queen Mother as it would add a different angle. I did think it a bit odd that they didn't mention the Ryanair at the time as it's a heck of a difference going from three miles to two... Hope you get a run. |
By:
Indeed. But the horse travelled and jumped like a dream last time out.........for 2 miles! Then fell in a hole. First outing after 500 odd days so you'd imagine it'll come on a bundle. Wherever it goes, I'll be on!
By:
Looks like you'll get a run for your dough after all - on about supplementing again today.
What I don't get is that the trainer was all over the papers like a rash before the Denman saying this was a gold cup dark horse. As soon as it sets foot on a track its a queen mum dark horse. It took the Denman chase for the trainer to work out its a 2m horse not a 3m 2f horse. Really? Could run into a place and if you've got big odds - good shout, but it'll only because it has kinkeel to beat for 3rd at this rate!!! |
By:
Just happy they've gone this route. On at 33's so looking forward to the race!
By:
to my eyes the most intruiging horse at the festival
By:
I agree Danny. Could be anything.
By:
is h definitely going in the QM now as id defo fancy him in the w/o SS market
By:
Connections are now ready to stump up the required £17,500 to add him to the Champion Chase field.
"We don't have to do anything until a week before the race so we'll see how the horse is and everything else, but the plan is to supplement him for the Queen Mother," said George. "He came out of the Newbury race really well and I think he has come on a lot for the run. He looks fantastic and very sharp and we look forward to Cheltenham with him. "We're not under any pretence and we know it's going to be an uphill struggle, but our horse does have an unbelievably high cruising speed and a good jump in him. "I think riding him positively over two miles will be just his cup of tea." |
By:
Will completely bounce...unbelievable hype over this thing. Champion Chase? C'mon man...
By:
I have to agree ballydoyle, WILL DO WELL TO BE PLACED
By:
I think the horse deserves his chance in the field for the CC. It's good for the game that the connections and trainer are not running away from SS. Racing needs more folk like this. There's always Aintree if he needs stepped up.
By:
I agree, they know they've got a horse that has a good cruising speed and on the latest evidence jumps well, he'll give them a great thrill for a while and may very well pick up some decent place money, shame a few others don't take the same viewpoint.

By:
Anyone give Sanctuaire a place chance in the CC?
By:
Yes - me. Better in Spring and reminds me of Tidal Bay in that if you keep him interested he will bound on when others have had enough
By:
IT depends which Sanctuaire turns up, it looks like he will get the ground he likes and if siz europe and cue card go for the ryanair he looks a good e/w bet at 20/1 [1/4 odds] with PP ...for these reasons Bluebird i did him in an e/w double with Une Artiste 8/1 in the mares race last week with PP..HERES HOPEING.

By:
I'd rather have Sanctuaire than this Mail De Bievre any day of the week.
By:
bALLYDOYLE it will be interesting if m.d.b and Sanctuaire take Each other on early, I know they wont beat S.S but it sure wont be a slow race.
By:
I think Sanctuaire is going to be held up in this actually...just a feeling ala Fred Winter run
By:
i hope your wrong ,i would let him have his way especially if he gets his ground.
By:
Not sure...I put 200 on S Sacre at evens which is
but a 25 ew saver on Sanctuaire at....7/1 ....![]() |
By:
The most remarkable performance I've seen in ages was when he chucked it at Kempton then proceeded to run on like Frankel

I don't know what everyone else thinks, but if my trainer came back to me after my Gold Cup hope had been beaten and said "I think I've got this horse wrong. He might be better over a whole mile less than I originally though. Fancy stumping up 17 grand and entering him in a race he's got no chance of winning, for the outside chance of getting third", I'd tell him to **** off and leave him in the Ryanair.
By:
Absolutely agree with that
By:
I think MDB might cause a problem for sanctuaire because last time they tried a new tactic with sanc didn't they, holding him up and see how that worked against SS, well he ran no sort of race whatsoever, I bet their thoughts after that race would be to once again let him bowl along in front the next time not thinking that in the queen mum they'd have any other competition to the front running role, well now that MDB is on the scene, if they were thinking about front running again on the back of the last disappointment, they may get sanc messed up by the french horse.
By:
what the fk had MDB done to merit having any chance in any race at the festival let alone the champ 2 miler?you could pu almost any of the 2 miler entries over 3 miles nd theyd be capable of going a gallp for 2 miles then get beaten a country miles(thats all any of us have ever seen this horse do)off for one run in 500 days btn a mile yet peoplesem to erxpect something really good fromhim , why?is he the greatest horse ever to come out of france or something?as for hs chances in the champ chasse i personally wouldnt take 50/1 w/o s[rinter if sizin, sanctuaire, wishfull thinking and co turn up.
By:
Sanctuarie is a definite runner in the QMCC. Put it in an e/w treble with Overturn and Une Artiste (2 place bankers could even win). They now it limitations and it will be ridden by Ruby to get second (impressive on CV) hopefully the big guns go for the Ryanair. The QMCC could end up with about 5 runners or less getting 1/4 odds 1,2,3 Sanctuarie 20/1 looks a good bet.

Might sound crazy but... I think Mail could win it, that sounds daft but Sanctuaire tried to beat SS from the front but has no stamina, perhaps a really quick horse that stays further could win it from the front It all boils down to the jumping, I was quite impressed with the way Mail flew his fences from the front at Newbury he's a big imposing sort quite similar to SS and he was quite entitled to blow up after such a long lay off, If for some reason SS made a few mistakes and Mail wings them perhaps he could build a big enough gap, who knows.
Yes he has no form over the shorter trip but he has won some big races in france easy, the only worry is he has little form on better ground. With Sizing Europe, Cue Card all heading elsewhere he could quite easily start 2nd fav on the day and 16/1 could represent decent value. PS I have come to the conclusion that Sanctuaire is a dog that will most probably refuse to race. |

what about realt dubh?
By:
WHAT ABOUT REALT DUD
By:
how many races since Sanctuaire refused to race?
By:
does does it inspire you with great confidence that he doesn't even want to race?
His hurdle form was average at best, and that Sandown run is clearly over rated. |
By:
Supplemented for Champion Chase.
By:
you said you think he will probably refuse to race, his form figures suggest differently.
By:
I agree with Brooksie. Mail de Bievre could have them all at in behind, including SS. This horse gallops and jumps for fun and won't be stopping over this shorter distance. Made all, never in danger, eased down.
By:
Well hes certainly added some much needed spice to the race,as has the inclusion of Sizing Europe.
Makes it all the more interesting for sure, and adds a few more punting angles. I might be interested in a wager without the fav, maybe with as well. |
