I know Paul Webber was saying that if he's going down the handicap route then they'll probably give him a spin over hurdles, but I reckon this lad's good enough to contest the Jewson off levels.
He's been mightily impressive over an inadequate trip so far this year, and a stiff 2m4f should see him in a much better light.
He ran a cracker in the Pertemps last year, so has Festival form and JP doesn't seem to have much else in the race (especially after Tap Night disappointed at the weekend).
He's priced himself out of the Centenery, so his other options are the Arkle (too short), RSA (would be a strange prep for that) or taking on experienced handicappers. With Captain Conan looking less than imperious at the weekend, the Jewson looks fairly open.
