Hi planning to go fo the tuesday,wednesday and thursday this year. Quite late to plan it but us gamblers have to see how our form is on the lead up to it. Looked at the hotels they all seem to be 250 a night, anyway around this...
maybe stay a bit out of chelters.... any ideas wecome. Dont really care about a nice hotel, normally to drunk to realise.

If you're travelling alone vb lots of b&b acommodation available via the Tourist Information Board. If there are a few of you, then renting a house/flat might be a better option - look at the ads in the Racing Post. I know lots of people who go to the Festival stay out of town but the craic is better if you stay here.
If there are 3 or 4 of you try for a cottage through 'country cottages' or the like.

For myself Liz Coe was MASSIVELY unreliable for me , twice, I wouldn't even contact her again, just my experience.

Yeah she sounded really nice, plausible and helpful, but didn't respond or call back despite assuring me she would.

We are staying at Hallmark Hotel - Gloucester - around 15 mins from Chelts by train. 450 for 2 nights with pool/spa etc - 24 hour cancellation also. Pretty decent
ballydoyle,have u stayed in gloucester before and if so ,where do u socialise in town...not much happens there ,i know from experience but thats what we prefer so we stay there every year
I've not mate no...but it's me n the mrs this year and I just thought it was 250 quid cheaper with a spa for her whilst i read the form. Looks a nice hotel. We wont be going out in Gloucester I wouldnt think...it will be last train home stuff for us then a 2 mile taxi to hotel...thats the plan anyway using mapquest etc n national rail times etc

Bristol is always an option, get a hotel close to the station for a 1/3 of the cheltenham hotel price and its only 40 mins away.

have stayed at the abbey in great malvern (they run coach to/from races which is always handy) and the cotswold water park four pillars and stratton house in cirencester which on a good day is about an hour from the racecourse - all three are recommended not sure about availability/price
we d stayed gloucester last year, into chelt on bus, taxi back from the queens 3am £20 quid i think, not bad between 4
It is what it is...if you want to look at the prices of hotels around Cheltenham area you'll find it's around £250 per night for starters.

In fact change of plan...make that £308 at New County Hotel for 2 nights.

£45 per night, B&B (fantastic breakfast) in Bishops Cleeve for the last 10 years or so. Sorted!
Stay in Brum! We're at the city centre premier inn, 5 mins to the station, then 40 mins on the train to chelts, £30 per night each. Stick around in cheltenham for a bit afterwards to avoid the queues for the train, then get back in Brum in time for a curry!
