Saint Are is an Aintree specialist. It won the 3m handicap chase on National day last year and has previously won the grade 1 3m novice hurdle race at the Grand National meeting.
Tim Vaughan has stated that the horse is being aimed at the National and currently has an attractive mark of 142. Was due to run at Doncaster on Saturday before it was called off today so presumably is fit and well.
Never been further than 3m2f but looks an out and out galloper to me.
Although no experience of National fences there are a lot worse 300/1 shots....

At the start of this season the national was a hopeful long term target, not sure whether his couple of runs so far haven't knocked that sideways.
We are very excited about his future prospects over fences. He is suited by flat tracks, therefore a tilt at the Hennessy appears to be a good option for his first outing of the season. In the long term he might be sent back up to Aintree to complete his hat trick of wins at the venue in the grand national next april.from John Morris's "jumping prospects" book.
Don't push it was the most recent winner of the same race saint are won before going on to national success.

Not one I had considered Meat, especially on the Cheltenham Forum [:crazy:, but seems a fair price. Don't be put off by lack of experience over the National Fences, it's invariably won by a horse who hasn't been over them before.

I was expecting Little Josh to be the selection before opening the thread :D. Interesting selection will have a look.
Not a bad selection for that price. Seems to finish his races well, as you said got good course form. Not sure if he has enough chasing experience just yet (Is there a stat on that?).
He'd be the first 7 year old to win since 1943, big ask.
Jeez guys, what do want for 300-1, the best form in the book over course and 10lbs well in 
Looks like 298 available on here a few days ago, not sure for how much mind.
Looks like it will have a nice weight for the National.
