If he runs then 46 is a very good price. Got o be a doubt about running and he hasn't' proven his stamina yet. If he could be switched off for 2 1/2 miles he could be dangerous late on but probably got a better chance in other races.

To many if for me but at 46 wouldnt want to lay it just in case it does return to its best...
|
|
By:
Lovely horse but i just see his Gold Cup run going the same as his RSA run, back to lay possibly.
|
|
By:
yes back to lay if he makes the gig !

Foyles, you do this all the time.
You put up one at a big price that I think is ridiculous and then you go and prove me wrong! I remember you putting up Conti and Al Ferof at massive prices, and if I remember correctly, Finians at big odds for the QMCC, and Zarkandar at about 14's this year. I disagreed with every single one, and surprise surprise, I've got to disagree with this one as well; but that may be no bad thing ![]() ![]() |

Foyles,
im going to fire away with my opinion,he just dont stay mate. |
|
By:
To add,
Imo the Pipes are trying to justify the noises they have been making about this horse, was pretty relentless at one time, although the horses performances have shut them up a tad. They run him in the Gold Cup,he either does a One Man,or gets pulled up. Might be wrong though Foyles, and i wish you luck. |

yeah budd to be honest if he were to win the argento and its entirely possible then i would be looking to trade ,another thought wonder if they have the world hurdle on their minds as the ryanaire looks as tho it could end up very competetive and with big bucks out of the picture and quevega probably going mares hurdle the race may not take as much winning as once looked likely .
|
|
By:
yep,WH is a possibilty mate if he fails in the Argento.Although that would mean them eating humble pie.And they wont like that!!
WH Is easier without BB of course, but his absence has provided a good competitive race and will still take some winning. |
|
By:
Whoever wins the World Hurdle will always be remembered as the World Hurdle winner because Big Bucks was out, a bit like Hors La Loi and Istabraq.
Still no bad thing though! |
|
By:
yes,but as fas as punting is concerned its the best thing that could have happened to the race, and its a good punting race too.
|
|
By:
for me and no disrespect to big bucks but without him the race has now got a decent betting shape to it ,would have been a sit and watch race as no point opposing big bucks ,but now a race to get stuck into!

who would anyone want to get involved in this bookies benefit foyles?? i disagree looks a mind field to say the least

By:
evening...well totally agree there appears to be angles and like one at a price but it is tight could be some arbing to be done but not for serious punting as so many with questions to answer
|

By:
can't see this staying in a taxi.

By:
ive seen worse bets foyles and these dom alco,s stay better with age
|
|
By:
Soon as BB was out,had a good look at this race, glad i did.
The bookies priced it up all wrong, with the 3 shortest all unlikely to run. Now have a few at nice prices and a lot shorter than they are now. Best race for me antepost by a long way. |
|
By:
bobs worth and tidal bay taken out of betting in the argento ,grands crus and imp commander vying for fav in the race ! bobs going straight to gold cup apparantly !

Oscar Whisky has only tackled three miles once before, in the 2012 World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when he finished a well-beaten fifth behind Big Buck’s.
The obvious conclusion to draw from that performance was that Oscar Whisky failed to stay the trip, but Henderson is not convinced that was necessarily the case. Although the trainer said earlier this season the eight-year-old would go for the Champion Hurdle – in which he finished third in 2011 – if the ground was soft, he is not ruling out another World Hurdle tilt now Big Buck’s is sidelined due to injury. Henderson wants to test Oscar Whisky’s stamina again in the Cleeve Hurdle over three miles at Cheltenham on Saturday and will need the thaw to arrive quickly if the meeting is to survive. “I'm still not convinced about last year's World Hurdle,” said Henderson. “He wouldn’t have won that race at two and a half miles and that’s what confuses me. I don't think he was right. “He was punch-drunk at the end of it, he couldn't stand up. What was amazing about him was to come back in time to win again at Aintree. “Our main objective is a third Aintree Hurdle, but I won’t lie down about the three-mile thing. He cruises through two and a half and I can’t believe he won’t get three. “The obvious thing to do is to use the Cleeve Hurdle and just try three miles once and for all and answer the question. “If the answer is no, then fine - he either comes back to the Champion Hurdle or we just wait for Aintree.” Oscar Whisky is a best-priced 7/1 third favourite with sponsors Ladbrokes for the 2013 World Hurdle and 16/1 at Paddy Power in their Champion Hurdle market. That's your winner of this years World Hurdle |

just said as much on the zaidpour thread, if you watch last years race he was going best of all until 2 out, the 1st 2 arent running, the third horse SP who ran the race of his career isnt running, quevega who would be the only real danger is going the mares race, come saturday afternoon 7-1 is going to look huge
|
|
By:
Thats cos he didn't stay, and he wont this time imo if they are stupid enough to try again.
So he was so fecked up at Cheltenham, but then won a hard race at Ainree??,just dont buy that at all. Hendo just cannot have OW winning so well at 2 and a half, yet not staying 3m. Well every horse has his limits at the top level, and Oscars imo is short of 3m. Problem is that if TB dont run,OW could have enough class to get away with it Saturday, but that wont mean he can stay well enough to win a WHurdle. |

nicholls said tidal bay unlikely runner in argento, makes me think they are going gold cup route
|
|
By:
Just watched the W Hurdle from last year - Oscar Whisky goes out like a light - like One Man did in the Gold Cup - proper emptied.
Cheltenham is a tough track - you need to get 3m 2f.... but when you look at his fantastic form figures you kind of illogically work out a way for him to do it. |
|
By:
OW looks a much better horse this year imo. Looks more mature. Think he goes close imo.
