I'll be in bits if it's off. And there's a glimmer of hope now that it could be moved to Sunday.
The best days racing before the festival.
Let's hope that the ground'll be safe because I don't mind standing in the cold.

I dunno if I can put up with yet another weekend without going racing.
Stuck in the house. It's too risky for me to venture out for a pint in the afternoon 'cus I'll never get back.
Even my missus is taking the p1ss out of me now.

Really hope this goes ahead. Coupled with the Donny meeting and the graded stuff from Ireland it could be a really informative weekend.

Why are trainers concerned about heavy going? Surely the ground will be hard from the frost? Surely the frost is the biggest danger of abandonment not rain?

Whatever the outcome it aint ideal for trainers,if its off they have to find other suitable races and pretty quickly i imagine, and if its on they have to decide if running their horse on that type of ground at this stage of the season is the right thing to do,with the possibility of bottoming a horse..
I can see where trainers might be concerned.
3 possibiles1)called off cos of frost2)Waterlogged3)Racing goes ahead on soft/heavy ground.Whatever the outcome it aint ideal for trainers,if its off they have to find other suitable races and pretty quickly i imagine, and if its on they have to decid
The clue's will be limited anyway as the weather must change for the better soon... festival will be a week of sunshine and tears for the punters as all the homework done on poor ground will mean nothing. This years formbook can be ripped up if the weather does change. Is there any form about on decent ground? Looked on the long range forcast and its a dry back half of Feb, that ground will change and drain so quickly. Meanwhile back in the real world i type this watching snow still falling.....
