Not great news for MTOY - hopefully they'll still point him at Supreme.
Assume that McCoy will ride Jezki so interesting to see who Barry chooses if that's the case |
By:
FFs means Barry wont be riding hoping not true as on big time good prices
By:
That's knackered his Supreme chance then if AP takes the ride.
By:
Might thwap him home at Taunton later though!
By:
Im hoping Mccoy rides Jezki as I would love Barry on MTOY. Shades of CaptainCeeBee/Binocular
By:
So AP will ride Jezki, and BG will now be on River M i should think.
By:
A few races to be run between now and then though.
By:
barry wasnt going to ride jezki anyway, would have had river maigue. now may get a chance on mtoy who he adores
By:
idd he's smitten with the tent.
By:
Half a million for a horse with the a few novice hurdle wins!?!
Probably nothing to JP but that's a huge price he has / will allegedly pay. People mentioned My Tent or Yours, but he also has Waaheb who has slipped under the radar. Would he run all three in the race? |
By:
gARDE cHAMPETRE 450K !!!!
By:
yeah think he will be three handed in the Supreme. Can't see Waaheb being upped in trip myself...
By:
Still praying snake eyes may get to supreme but appreciate bit of a dream and time running out. Jezki deal won't help matters
By:
Cant understand why some on this thread think its a bad thing AP riding Jezki. Must be pure luck he's been champion jockey 15 times and riden nearly twice as many winners as anyone else!!! Cant see it being down to him if it doesnt win.
By:
nor me my friend
By:
I wouldn't say having AP was a negative; but losing on quality horses like Sprinter, Binocular and Darlan doesn't inspire confidence.
Although I wouldn't say losing on them were down to him though, so that probably makes my point pointless ![]() |
By:
I can see maybe people thinking BG might be more suited to the horse, but if hes good enough i dont think AP would stop him from winning.
By:
I agree Budd.
By:
Anyone got the feeling that JP really really wants to win the Champion Hurdle next year?
By:
fair play to him i say, he keeps many a yard going with some of the dross he's prepared to keep in training.
By:
I like how this thread is going on as if the thread title has been confirmed.
By:
It's been confirmed now. I knew that would happen. Horse will stay in training with Harrington. |
By:
Have laid off my 8/1 on Jezki and my 20/1 on Golantilla for the Bumper as I hate having McCoy on my horses.
![]() |
By:
What makes you think McCoy will ride Golantilla?
By:
^ Sorry Roobuck I got my wires crossed.
By:
^ Still happy to have laid off my Golantilla bumper bet at 10/1. Now have a decent free bet at 10/1 and if it goes really short on the day I can lay off again and guarantee some money back - useful if the first two days of the meeting don't go to plan.
By:
Should we really be worried that Mcmanus has bought Jezki though, those of us with tasty vouchers for the supreme (on MTOY 10/1+20/1 & JEZKI 8/1 personally) as he often runs 2 or 3 in the same race, supreme is no different.
By:
he loves to win the supreme, jezki and my tent or yours are the most likely winners from what ive seen, other than puffin billy they aint much else
By:
I'm happy if McCoy rides but wont be disappointed if BJG steps back on board or Robbie Power for that matter.
What does concern me is the straight to the festival quote today. Horses without a recent prep run have a pretty average record in the supreme; would much prefer it if he ran in (and won) the Deloitte next month. |
By:
NOOOOO!!! Where did you see that quite woodworm?
By:
Its on the sporting life site now!
Harrington did the same with Steps to Freedom last year if I recall! |
By:
I don't think it's much of an idea to give a novice hurdler that ssort of time off track.
By:
Personally think its an awful decision. Got a bit of 8/1 with laddies and not that chuffed about her decision. Got to have a prep run
By:
The horse has enough experience on the track, but the last thing you want for the first race on the Tuesday when the whole place is buzzing is a fresh horse!
By:
That doesn't quite sound right; of course you want a fresh horse; I can just see him running too free and wasting energy.
A prep run 3-4 wks prior would take the edge off. Hey-ho should probably leave the training to the trainers! |
By:
You're right woodworm. From the last 10yrs, cinders and ashes had the latest prep run which was 21st jan.
By:
anyone else think pique sous has been a bit over looked at 25s?
By:
yes sam deff worth a look came up the hill in bumper a lot better than jezki an is deff some value 25s worth an e/w play, i saw the owners at chelt before the bumper an they were really keen on it to run a big race in bumper and it did would like to see it run again before chelt though before it carrys my dollar, but im really keen on dodging bullets imo hes solid and sets the standard

I was wondering, with MTOY being the tote gold trophy job horse, if perhaps with GMOOH just failing in doing the double a couple of years back if maybe he thought that he wouldn't want to leave the supreme behind at newbury and fancied another in his colours that was going to be 100% solely targeted at the supreme!!
