I'd have the three races at the moment as about:
Champion Hurdle 7/4 Champion Chase 1/2 Gold Cup 7/4 Gives a touch over 10/1. So about right. |

Burton Port out for the season but I get your drift.

Am with you chief dan its defly worth a bet. Any other cheltenham specials catch your eye?

Very tempted myself. Sprinter is a cert. I fancy Bobs worth for GC but Long Run is not a bad saver even though I don't particularly fancy him, I could easily be wrong. Champion hurdle is the sticking point as I don't really have a strong fancy in this race. Darlan and Grandeout must have a chance between them in an open race.

Defo good bet imho , agree with Gold Cup winner , see how long the 9s lasts .
By:
Sorry lads, but 9-1 to win the 3 championship races at Cheltenham, you would need your head examined. Stats will highlight this bet to failure I fear.
By:
id happily lay 9/1.
By:
Could get in effect 14/1 and 23/1 to back two trebles with Grandeout and Darlan, although don't get the saver on Long Run then.
By:
or Binocular and possibly Oscar Whisky running for you in the Champion Hurdle
By:
I wouldn't consider backing them personally but do agree I would be better off taking the 9/1 than messing about with multiple bets.
By:
Another reason I like the bet is the order of the races. As I said I don't have a fancy for the CH so wouldn't mind having a few runners. I'm going to back Bobs Worth anyway and I'll know the fate of this bet before it comes in. I think Sprinter is a penalty kick as long as he's fit and healthy.
By:
The more I look at it the more I like it. Basically if Henderson bags the CH which I think he will you have a 9/1 ticket on Bobs Worth/Long Run to win the Gold Cup great fun bet to last through the entire meeting.

Corals
Totally agree but do fear Zarkandar in CH |

at the moment Finians Rainbow and Simonsig are also entered in Champion Chase and would be two of the four most likely winners if anything went wrong with Sprinter Sacre (God forbid).
Riverside Theatre, Finians Rainbow and Roberto Goldback all entered in Gold Cup also. Not my type of bet but I can see why people are tempted. |
By:
Over 2 months to go boys, Bookies offer these bets for a reason. What happens if the sprinter steps on a stone or is given medication too close to the race? Looks a poor bet then, regardless of Finians chances of retaining. I know that you'll say that that is factored into the price, but I'm not sure that everyone is looking at it that way, the sprinter is 1/2 - not a cert.
I'd be prepared to wager that if you waited until the Tuesday then split your intended stake across his runners in the CH etc etc, you would get similar odds and less risk of horses dropping out of the reckoning. |

Not worried about Zarkander all he was doing last year was going past beated horses, looked better then it was.

This bet would not appeal to me. Dont think any trainer has achieved this before but I could be wrong. One could have thrown in Big Bucks for a 4-horse acc about a month back! There have been many "only have to turn up" losers in the past at Cheltenham. SS is one of the most exciting prospects we have seen for some time but considering the pace of the CC the likelihood of an unforeseen happening there is far greater than say in the World Hurdle Still would hope and expect SS to win. However this treble is not for me. Can see only one leg succeeding. Time will tell but the bookies love these bets.

only 1 leg succeding best of luck with your bets for the festival then Arklearkle

Time will tell time will tell .... What about the four certs last year which were going to retain their crowns in the major races! Same as nearly every other year. This year could be different but the big layers are all still in business.
By:
im not backing 4 certs though ark ive got a few horses at the fore of the betting in all 3 races its not that im just relying on 3 short price horses to win
By:
I'm still a bit torn because if the fragile Grandeout(sp) doesn't make the race then I wouldn't be as excited about it. Will have a good think about this bet.
By:
i think alot of people are overlooking the champ hurdle winner m8 just praying hendo puts him in the race the horse is Oscar Whisky with the ground looking on the soft side proven on the track the trip is no trouble imo think it will suit him better back in trip, after his novice year he came 3rd in the champ hurdle behind the fly only beaten 6 lengths and imo the fly has not improved since then and think they should of tryed him back over the min ages ago as was never gonna beat Big Bucks
By:
Don't give your money to the bookies - it will not happen
By:
Using lay prices from here in the 3 races I make it 12.4
So won't be taking 9/1 |
By:
Champion hurdle and gold cup look red hot races, big ask winning the three.
Has a trainer ever won those three |
By:
By dutching accas Darlan/Grandouet with Sprinter Sacre and Bobs Worth / Long Run you can get almost 12/1
So it's a terrible bet |
By:
Its a sporting fun bet for a silly tenner, that's why the bookies offer it. Dont think anyones going to lump on.
