no bet races for me atm,but would like to
see Flemenstar in the QMC,for a bit of opposition to SS. GL. |
|
By:
Am with your there penzance, with the Fleminstar - QMCC thing i no which i would be backing and it wouldnt be SS at the likely prices! Place money for sure!

10's on here,really don't think he'e a Gold Cup,
horse, can't see him staying myself. |
|
By:
Am not so sure he didn't stay the trip in the lexus tbh, he was a good race though. He held onto 3rd after all, what i saw was them coming at him and his giving his all, that was fair enough though if he didn't stay in the Lexus, the way SDC was coming at them, i thought for sure SDC was finishing 3rd. So for me, the horse gave his all but on the day, just was not good enough if you follow me.
3m 2f around Cheltenham would not be his cup of tea on that performance but i can see where his trainer is coming from. If they could just settle better then there is a chance but he just travels so extremely well! |

I am not sure whether i rate SIMONSIG or not>>
The good thing Sea is, your not sure, the day you don't rate him I'd start worrying. |
|
By:
Thats such a closed minded thing to say, maybe i should have made it easy for you, and just plainly say, i need convincing by ways of a debate as to who rates him and who don't and their reasons etc. One of the biggest races at the festival for novices!
We had quite a long running large debate running exactly this time last year that lasted right up until the day of the race almost on sprinter sacre after all and that helped me make my mind up to go against him. Which cost me! I say again, can the maestro of seven barrows do it again 2 years running Send off what seems to be his best 2 mile nov' chaser in mickey mouse nov' chases at 2/9 and 1/6 and then win the big one at Chelts? After all he sent one to Kelso not a long time ago at 1/14 that got beat! Of course the answer to that is yes, it can, but what are the chances in that it wont, are there any chinks in his armor anywhere![]() |

He's a worthy fav, but i think he's to short for what he's beat over fences. Obviously he's done it really well but do you really want to be taking evs at this stage. He could be very good but we don't have enough evidence yet imo. Think a fair price at this stage would probably be about 2/1.

He's the most exciting ghorse ive seen for a long time and I think he'll hose up in the arkle

Are you not sure whether you rate the horse sea or whether you rate him good enough to win an arkle. You put up a post heading relating to a horse that doesn't have to prove anything, he's has already proven he's very good.

More i am not sure whether he is another Sprinter Sacre or not. I get the feeling that maybe his prices of last 2 runs have had a little bit of SS and the stable factored in, therefore, is he really proven he really is that good over fences
Most horses that have won the Neptune the way he did (or equivalent before this race was invented) last season put up against horses of the caliber he met first and 2nd time up this season you would have to expect them to be able to show a similar level performance than he did, especially at 1/6 and 2/9 of which i feel would have been closer to 2/5 and 1/4 had SS not done what he done last season and/or he was trained by someone a little less fashionable. Many have down the years, shown top form over hurdles, even won at the festival, then on their novice chase debut, looked unbeatable only to come up short at the festival itself! I am merely factoring in the odds on history repeating itself twice in two years! And his current price for the Arkle is woefully too short! I would love to have some 9/4 - 5/2 about him just as a friend of mine has and think he should be closer to 6/4 than evs currently! |
|
By:
the prices for his last 2 races were correct because he won like a 1/6 and 2/9 shot. he beat Hinterland by 35lengths giving him 11lb. captain conan beat the same horse by 5 lengths. BG said that he has so much pace that there is not many horses at Hendersons stable that can go with him over a mile. he has always jumped well at home and on the track and with overturn and arvika being 2 front runners he'll have something to aim at and allow him to settle. very exciting horse.

By:
Will pisss the Arkle. I have 11/4 and will keel over if beat by likes of Overturn and Arvika.
|
|
By:
He looks like the real deal to me. The main concern is always going to be whether they get there or not. If he gets there you have to think it will be difficult to beat him. He appears to tick all the boxes that you look for in a chaser.

I'm already on for next years King George and Gold Cup, so there's my answer

1/6 before the race with Hinterland in it, i would presume to have the stable/SS factored into the price but i am taken by what you have said. That performance on its own with a line through captain conan is something else. But one has to factor two things in, CC made all and Sim' was held up off far different tracks and ground.
Though am not too sure about the line BG said that he has so much pace that there is not many horses at Hendersons stable that can go with him over a mile. That surely would not include SS ![]() Though, he defo now looks a good bet to me! Thanx giggsy3444 seems i was being blind to the obvious and letting my doubts over the law of sods cloud my judgement ![]() |
|
By:
Would do anything to have a bit of 9/4 now, never mind 11/4 Ballydoyle lol
! I could then have a bit of 8s captain conan e.way for insurance! |

Different year, different crop of horses etc, but I think Sprinter's Arkle will be factored into Simonsig's price at the moment.
Bookies were still offering 5/2, 9/4 about Sprinter this time last year, and I think quite a lot of them got their fingers burnt come March. I think it'll take a brave bookie to take on Simonsig after what happened last year, so a lot are running for cover because they don't want lightning to strike twice. |

Imo he is the only horse in training who would give Sprinter sacre a race over 2 miles and I'm not sure I could guarantee the result

i'm with you HARCHINATIVE. henderson says Simonsig and SS are the 2 best work horses in the yard. he doesn't like to work them together incase they take each other on and do too much on the gallops. the one thing he has over SS going into the Arkle is that there is not this debate about if he'll get home or not. BG can take it up as far out as he wants and he'll know Simonsig will get up the hill. love this horse to bits!

Not too sure how anybody can e unsure about simonsig!! he is the real deal make no mistake. hat price would he be in his novice season for the QMCC if his trainer didn't have SS in his stable. Do agree he might not win the arke though, but only because he might just run in the RSA he will stay that trip too. WHile SS in the near perfect 2 miler this fellow could (and already has) win at several trips. His only fault is hes a grey and i never bet them lol USUALLY |
