FAR WEST - Triumph Hrd

you have form in the book but be surprised if one isnt better if not 4-5

He is good value I think people are wary of him because he was seen early in the season. Early season form tends to be weak enough but I feel he's way above average. If there are 4 or 5 better it will be one of the strongest Triumph's of all time. He has already put up figures good enough to win an average Triumph. Being relatively inexperienced he's likely to be improving all the time. Of course you have to bring into the mix he's been doing it on soft ground but I don't see why better ground will be a problem. I think he will be one of the main players on the day and no harm in getting him onside at his current price.

I thought Far West and Vasco Du Ronceray were a class apart when they first ran.

Very disappointed in Vasco next time out though.

Far West is a good trading option, because he is bound to be much shorter.

Will be very interesting to see the line up of the Triumph Hurdle trial on Trials Day in a few weeks.  Last year that race produced Pearl Swan from nowhere and enhanced the chances of Grumeti.  Wouldn't be surprised if Far West ran in that.

if there is 4-5 horses better than him, they must hurry i think. But you could be right.

im expecting one or two good ones from the Irish and also think Trials day will give us more clues.

However im going to have a go at 9/1 for now. could look like a great bet or daft in a few weeks, time will tell.

Does anyone think irish saint will run in the Triumph?

Far West looks the best 4yo so far but with Nicholls having several other good ones, I would want to be quite sure about which one he is aiming at the Triumph before having a bet.

Blood Cotil looks to be one to keep on your side, blue across the boards with oddschecker. Probably run @ Leopardstown trials day in Feb.

Looks a good triumph trial in the first at Donny today

I've had a small nibble at Caid Du Berlais of Nicholls at 33/1. Although a beaten favourite on Saturday at Chepstow the way he finished caught the eye.

with just over 3 weeks left to cheltenham, im very happy at this stage with the 9/1 taken on far west and i do think this is nicholls best 4 yo he has.

The only other two horses that worry me at this stage are both ROLLING STAR and especially OUR CONOR who was very impressive LTO.
