anyone else think this is a weapon in the making, tomorrow will tell us more about this horse but for me shows all the signs of a high class chaser...3 miles will be more his thing but really looking forward to tomorrow and the future with this beast...nice tester tomorrow against some nice horses will cement him as a horse to take very seriously...

I'm a fan, hope he gives me some TTF points tomorrow. Having said that, also have Arvika Ligeonniere, so don't really mind which wins.
Report resner not lesnar December 1, 2012 7:57 PM GMT
I quite fancy Buckers Bridge at the prices. Looks fairly decent, beat Sword of Destiny on horrible ground last time who could be a good horse. Worry is that looked a really hard race and there's a chance it will have left a mark.

Have a few lists bubbling under, waiting for the big guns to start firing in the next few weeks. The International Hurdle at Cheltenham could have a big influence. Could be one of the races of the season if horses like Rock On Ruby, Zarkandar, Darlan and Grandouet all show up.
Report Howdi December 2, 2012 12:15 PM GMT
a serious tool yes harry I agree. Plain
Report festivalfanatic December 2, 2012 1:44 PM GMT
If he needs 3 miles, then a seriously injudicious ride from Russell to cut Ruby so much slack today. Never had a chance at any stage of the race.
Report roobuck December 2, 2012 1:50 PM GMT
Clearly thought Ruby is an amateur with no idea on pace and he'd come back. Ridiculous!
Report alexmillwall December 2, 2012 2:14 PM GMT
o well v informative ride for another day... did u see how well he jumper even under pressure? big things to come and now we get a decent price :)
Report harry callaghan December 2, 2012 6:49 PM GMT
well some maybe disappointed but think he got beat by a serious racehorse over an inadequate trip...I didn't think davy gave him a bad ride at all it was just that he didn't have the pace to lie up with them and arvika set a serious gallop in that ground...some good horses blown away in this race, the winner is obviously very good but he jumped pretty well bar the first and one down the back...another half mile will see him in a different light and all isn't lost I still think he is top class but he met a weapon today whom he won't meet again...not sure whether he would go to leopardstown over christmas for the fort leney or whether they may wait until the new year...he had a hard race making up that ground but looks tough
Report ACStafford December 2, 2012 7:03 PM GMT
Just like to echo roobuck's comments about treating Ruby as an amateur. One of the worse rides I've ever seen (and I didn't bet on the race)
Report harry callaghan December 2, 2012 7:20 PM GMT
interesting pal...so did you think all the riders gave a bad ride or just russell?? very difficult because I backed the horse today...maybe i'm wrong but don't like to pocket talk when i've done my money...its just that the horse struggled to go the pace for me....walsh just seemed to inject some serious pace past the stands...

I may be reading this wrong what do others feel???
Report pollybournemouth December 2, 2012 7:39 PM GMT
Well Harry IMO Dedigout is no big beast Cool He was run of his hooves today and whatever ride the jock would give him now or in the future will make no difference Devil The winner will go on and do really REALLY well while Dedigout will win some nice small races
Report ACStafford December 2, 2012 8:02 PM GMT
I thought they all got it wrong. To my eye they all jumped to the conclusion that Walsh had gone off too quickly and chose not to try to keep tabs. When they realised their mistake they had to push their horses to try and make the distance up, while Walsh allowed his a breather. It may be that the result would have been the same whatever the ride, but they gave their mounts no chance by giving such a quality jockey such a big lead.
Report roobuck December 2, 2012 8:14 PM GMT
tbh I've only watched the race as it happened but it seemed that no jockey seemed to try and keep tabs with Walsh. I mean 20 lengths?

Clearly it was an excellent performance from AL and he is a genuine Grade 1 performer but Dedigout might as well of not turned up.

I'll watch it again and I might form is different opinion
Report Distant View December 2, 2012 8:16 PM GMT
How can they possibly be thinking of dropping him to 2miles over Christmas? He does not have the toe for that and should be stepping up in trip.
Report Howdi December 2, 2012 8:20 PM GMT

lovely stuff no more hideous uninteresting comments....

roo and ac...well you maybe right but after watching it 6 times I tend to not agree entirely...reasons being that I don't believe the horses in behind had the pace to go with the winner...the winner was so fluent and jumped at pace at a right good gallop it was also a very good ride from walsh...ah you maybe right can't make my mind up to be fair
Report roobuck December 3, 2012 1:11 PM GMT
They may well not have had the pace to go with AL, but they were never asked to imo so we'll never know.

Looking at the way the winner finished it is unlikely that the result would have been much different. Whilst he was impressive, I think he'll probably go off shorter than he should do next time.
Report SoYouThink January 6, 2013 2:01 PM GMT
Was there a reason for this one's below par effort in the Topaz at Christmas? Might be better suited to better ground.

Can't help but think there is an element of the Punchestowns / Time For Rupert / Grands Cru about Dynaste but it's hard to find something that might beat him.
Report bluebirdfan January 7, 2013 8:38 AM GMT
Stable couldn't find anything and it will 'take a huge win next time out to even consider Cheltenham'. Personally after his first error where he clouted the fence he never looked comfortable
Report Howdi January 7, 2013 5:32 PM GMT
