Apologies if this has been covered but can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone know what the plan is this year? I liked him for the RP Hurdle but then was pulled out. Think I remember John Ferguson saying he was a bit backward this year. Is hurdling still on the agenda?

Im sure I read somewhere that the plan was a handicap at The Tingle Creek meeting

Thanks Ben, I hope so. Looking forward to seeing the horse this year.

Ferguson stated a few weeks back that chasing was the plan and he was withdrawn from the rp hurdle. I cant see him running for ages anyway on this ground. Hopefully he stays hurdling this season he's plenty young enough.

Really liked this horse last year. Could be thrown in off 145.

Has an interesting entry in the Ladbroke on saturday, glad they are running him over a shorter trip.

I love the horse but he's a stone better on good ground imho, soft ground on saturday and he's no chance imho

I've backed him at 12/1 NRNB for Saturday. Missed out on the 16s that was available.

He's been pulled out because of the ground a few times already this season. Mushroom, I've hard a few people say he needs good ground, I'm not entirely sure why though. He's never raced on it as far as I can see.

Ascot also drains well so I'm not completely disheartened by the forecast.

Well if you take the Neptune race; Monklands who finished 18 lengths behind Simonsig is now rated 157. Close House who was 23 lengths back is 136 rated. Double Ross who was 37 lengths back is now rated 142.

Tried to use horses that have run this season.... But I would think Cotton Mill would have at least been within 10 lengths of Simonsig, so off 145 I think he would be very fairly treated to say the least.

I was at Warwick the day he won (Ambion Wood now 150), and I think the ground that day was reasonably soft. The drop down to 2 mile is a big positive imho.

He is a huge player if he runs

He's out.

Yeah, was to be expected really with connections trying to avoid soft ground. I need to stop punting antepost on handicaps; I just get paranoid I'll miss the price though!

Entered in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton. Crazy move. With his current mark, they should be aiming at a handicap.
