Howdi - Always liked OW. However, other than confirming he is alive and well the race today told us nothing about the CH. Over 2m there is enough evidence to say that OW is place material at best. Over 3m shown he doesn't quite stay. Needs to keep on winning the Aintree race, ideal trip for it. Plenty big races will come his way in the years to come, but none over 2m or 3m.....I reckon you'll see his name on the Ryanair winners list in years to come.

I WAS KINDA THINKING ABOUT THE PRICE FROM AN EXCHANGE PROSPECTIVE PRICE WAS ALWAYS GOING TO COME IN FOR EASY CASH

By:
Absolutely, sorry....I've been working long hours.
By:
i love oscar love to see him versus bucks at 2.4 miles
By:
Would have gone close in the Champion last year imo. Yes 2m4 is his optimum you would say but he's not short of pace.
By:
As Geraghty said if it was soft on Champion Hurdle day you'd say he had a real chance. The way the weather has been this year (as Budd keeps alluding to) soft ground may not be out of the question
By:
Personally i thought he should have been aimed at the Champion Hurdle last season and I certainly wouldn't rule him out if lining up in March.
Henderson has plenty of options in the 2m hurdling division though and I suspect he might not line up if his other contenders stay sound |
By:
There is no other race for him at the festival, he didn't stay 3m so the World Hurdle is a non starter. So its either the Champion Hurdle or miss out Cheltenham and attempt the hatrick at Aintree of beating Thousand Stars by a nose
By:
he may skip the festival. Run him in the Bula and then go from there my advice
By:
not running in champion. henderson has already said that he will skip Cheltenham. he's going to run in the welsh champion then that loch derg race at fontwell and aintree. keep u'r money in u'r accounts as reguards the champion hurdle.
By:
THAT COULD EASILY CHANGE IF IT SOFTER THAN USUAl giggsy
By:
henderson said when interviewed the other day that he'd probably miss cheltenham to concentrate on the aintree race.
By:
didn't see that giggsy
By:
well hes won the Aintree race twice, both times having ran at the festival as well.
Makes sense to keep him in the race till nearer the time, see how conditions are and where he is as regards his other contenders, and then decide. If BG is saying a soft ground CH could be up his street, then thats fair enough imo.The horse is certainly proven with the ability to run in the race, and in hindsight he may have won it this year, and he would certainly add interest to the race. And the way the whether is,who knows what going will be?? As Howdi said the odds were worth taking. |
By:
Still think he'd have had a great chance in last years CH
By:
you mean this years, and last seasons bbf?
By:
guess yer do,and looking at his form with Overturn where it looked like he would beat him giving weight at Ascot, then yes he must have had a great chance.
Think he would this season as well, especially if its a strong run race on good/soft or softer, which is more likely this season than recent ones,by the looks of it. |
By:
Tw&t on ATR said he should try 3m again!!!
give me strength!!,where do they get these idiots?? |
By:
It was lovely to see him make amends for his fall in the race last year.
I love Oscar Whisky ![]() |

By:
![]() yeh it was mate. ive never known him not to run his race,so genuine and classy as well. its a shame he could not have told them he could'nt stay 3m,he might be a CH winner now. |
By:

By:

Thats when i said hello, think me and him got a bit of a rapport. |
