I was suprised to see the classy ROCK CRITIC being tried over hurdles last week. The dogs were certainly barking. I suppose it did not beat a lot, but the horse could not have been more impessive.
Old Dermot Weld we all know iis shrewd cookie. Rock C has a superior flat rating to that of the same stables/connections UNACCOMPANIED, who of course ran second in Triumph Hurdle on his first visit to Cheltenham.
Dare I say, you heared it hear first!

I notice Mr Weld is wheeling out Rock Critic tomorrow at Fairyhouse tomorrow. Next stop Cheltenham?  The horse is likely to go for the Supreme Novice.

Highly rated but wildly inconsistent miler. Will he get the trip at Cheltenham? Did he really get a mile on the Flat and is that the reason he was so up and down?

Ramruma

I take on board what u say. The horse appears to get two miles over hurdles easily. Jumps for fun.

Looks like RC will swerve Cheltenham and wait for Punchestown. Where ever he goes over hurdles he will be hard to beat. He's a natural.

Thanks for the tip. I see Weld is waiting for better ground, which is not guaranteed at Cheltenham this year.

Then again, if last year's Punchestown Festival is anything to go by, it's no certainty there either!
