Lot earlier than usual than this year, mind you more and more bookmakers are offering Cheltenham books earlier than usual; just usually means theres no brave layer willing to give you a stupidly big price on a horse these days

Thanks for the heads up FW. Won't be playing just yet but I'm interested in Cue Card for the Ryanair. He ran a great race in the Arkle and has an admirable Festival record, already has form at 2 and a half miles and won't be campaigned against the monster over 2.

Ryanair market is already looking interesting.
The almosts of last years Arkle in Cue Card, Al Ferof and Menorah all prominent in the betting. I think this is a race where the main dangers weren't in last years; the three above with Finians, First Leuitenent or Champion Court is where the winner will come from imo (sticking my neck out there picking 6  ).I don't think any of last years will be up there again, like Riverside, Albertas, Medermit, Rubi Light etc; Does anyone know if Sizing Europe is definitely staying over 2m? He'd definitely shake the Ryaniar market up if he had that as an option. |

^ I think I might well make him an early ante-post bet for a few beans, as I'm not sure there are any other options really. Can't see them taking on Sprinter Sacre and there is no way he can stay the Gold Cup trip, so hopefully they'll head that way.
I know they have been reluctant to step away from one of the so-called 'big' championship races, but having won a Queen Mother and just come up short in the next one and now seen that three miles is too far on more than one occasion they might be more willing to switch their attention to the Ryanair. |

Ryanair will be one of the races of the festival as every man and beast will swerve the Frankel of the jump world Sprinter Sacre in queen mother.Can see 15 -20 lining up and half of them will go there with a chance.

The Ryanair is always one of the best, most competetive races of the Festival. It's just so many people are so sniffy about it they don't notice.

Batonnier was very progressive last season and looks a real stayer. Wouldn't be a shock to see him as a serious contender.

Wouldn't have any real opinion on the RSA at the moment.
I've never really took to Fingal Bay, and I was disappointed with Boston Bob in the AB. At the moment I'd have to go with Dynaste of those in the market, just based on some of his hurdles runs. I really like Smad Place, but although I haven't got any stats hand, the RSA would seem a bit of a grueling race for a 6yo, especially when you've been taking on the mighty Big Bucks as a 5yo. |

I was also interested in Smad Place wellchief but I'm sure someone mentioned last year when I was all over Grands Crus for this that the stats for horses coming from the World Hurdle to the RSA were not good (or something along those lines).
Off the top of my head the last 3 favs were Grands Crus, Time For Rupert & Punchestowns which would certainly back this up. Having said this I'm not a purely stats man but they're certainly worth considering in some cases |

I believe the stat is that horses who spent more than 1 season over hurdles have a very poor record in the RSA. I can't remember if it's a 1 in 40 years type stat, but the RSA is a collosolly strong trends race (one or two nearing every horse for 50 years type stats).

If Elliott can sort Mount B's jumping out he'd have an immense chance in the RSA - sadly the jumping is a major major concern but the horse has a massive engine.

Surely in this day and age as antepost betting for Cheltenham gets bigger and bigger surely Betfair could have a market up for every race
