Writing on her website, Harrington said: "Oscars ran very well in finishing sixth and I was happy with him. I am going to step him up in trip now to two and a half at Aintree and three miles at Punchestown. They are both possibilities.
"I will finalise my plans closer to the time but one thing I do know he is definitely going chasing next season."

At least he will be able to go for the Arkle without worrying about Sprinter Sacre.
Having said that he clearly isn't the top jumping prospect that I for one thought he was after last years Cheltenham run (called him the next Best Mate)- a good horse but no superstar.

Because his breeding and his run in the Neptune last year just screamed '2 miler' didn't it?
Look, I'm sorry, I'll just shut up about how cr@ply this horse has been campaigned.

is it just the 3 miles you are objecting to Punchestown or do you not think he'll take to fences?
i dont see him as a 3 miler at all and, in contrast with roger, did think his Neptune run suggested he'd cope fine with a drop in distance. However, i do think he'll take well to fences, and as a 162-rated hurdler makes much more appeal at around 14/1 for the Arkle than the likes of Tetlami and Galileo's Choice

Nope, i dont think ROR is anywhere near the animal he is on bigger tracks around that gaff, Oscar won last year because Binocular wouldnt get the trip in a horsebox and Peddlars has some hard races.
Oscars well was only just behind Zarkandar at Chelt and is three times the price nearly of that animal, he hasnt raced at 20f all season, of curse the henderson one is a danger but at this price ill have to play

duncan,I don't think he has a prayer of staying 3 miles and is way too low at his hurdles to make it a serious concern over bigger obstacles, hope I'm wrong because if it could be thought to respect a fence over 2 miles it could be a serious weapon.

cheers, punch. as i said, i agree re. trip but disagree re. his jumping...just looking at the Ch Hurdle, i thought he jumped the 4th flight like a prospective chaser....you never know if they've got the gumption for it until they try tho.

Well we certainly know that he's never won at two miles. ------------------ Still think the way it travels it would have a better chase career over shorter distances.
