if trainers were to be telling porkies on targets to keep punters off the price then we may as well all give up antepost. Betfair's star client Nicholls has left a lot to be desired whether he is telling porkies or not at times makes you wonder if anything they say means anything now.

At least JJ O'Neill won the Gold Cup for JPM, very straight forward connections we will know exactly what is going on with him for next years handicap

What surprised me is that this bet was struck last November when Festival things for a lot of horses were fairly up in the air yet the stable lad still had the foresight to back Riverside Theatre in the Ryanair and Simonsig for the Neptune (two who's targets/participation were far from confirmed last November) and yet he ignored the far more obvious claims of Binocular, Spirit Son and Grandoeut in the CH, Long Run in the GC and Oscar Whiskey in the Stayers. I'm especially surprised he didn't put in Long Run but turns out he was right.

Think the confusion about Simonsig might have happened when Fingals beat him at Sandown when it appeared that he'd run out of puff, when the latter was a n/r it probably made up their mind for them.
They seemed to want to cover both races but had more, in their eyes, suitable candidates for the Supreme |

He may work in the yard but there's still a MASSIVE amount of luck involved. I wouldn't begrudge him it.
What if Fingal Bay stays fit and gives Simonsig a race? What if they jump the last in the Champion Chase and Sizing Europe pings it perfectly and beat Finians? How did he know Riverside Theatre would come back to the top level after so long off, wouldn't bounce, or would handle Cheltenham (he didn't really)? Did he know Bobs Worth would need a breathing operation after Xmas and he'd improve for it? He could have spent a few hundred quid putting all manner of Hendo accys on and he nailed one. Superb. |

The thing that struck me about the bet was how did it only come to £1 million? By my conservative estimates of the prices on offer,I make the return far higher.I bet the B uggers invoked a maximum winnings clause on the bet.
