Hendo says Simonsig will be aimed a the Arkle. Don't know about FB - probably go chasing too I would think though at what trip, who knows?

Indeed, consider these two the two strongest novice hurdlers so keen to follow them next year, have seen BoyleSprts go 4/1 Simonsig for the Arkle

Simonsig is Arkle bound, not sure if hes a true 2miler though
|
|
By:
I'm sure he'll get further in time, but that might suit if Sprinter Sacre turns out to be as good as everyone thinks/hopes.

really hope they start simonsig over hurdles and stay there. just a vibe i have that he's not a chaser. such a cruising speed, want him to at least go for a top two mile hurdle.

he will never jump another hurdle on a racecourse again, will be winning the arkle, then king george, then gold cup

Simonsig will improve for fences. At this stage, difficult to see what will beat him in the Arkle.

But 3/1? Peddlars Cross who was 2nd in a CHampion Hurdle was 12/14s this time last year as was Sprintre Sacre
Bookies gettin worse every year to strangle everything out of the AP markets |

Peddlers was 8s not 14s!!!!

Peddlers was definitely 14's Howdi.
Backed him on 20th March 2011 with Sid James at 14/1 for the 2012 Arkle (just checked account history) - might have been 8's in late April but when the betting first opened he was 14/1 with Sid, and I'd just missed the 16's with VC. A quick google search brought up "Peddlers Cross remains the one to beat at Aintree, but connections may already have their eyes on a chasing career next season. The son of Oscar is best-priced at 14/1 with Stan James to win the Arkle, but is as low as 6/1 with **** in the same market." http://www.liveoddsandscores.com/horse-racing/437343/thousand-stars-set-to-lead-irish-challenge-in-the-aintree-hurdle |

There must be some chance Simonsig will stay over hurdles for another year which has to be factored in to the price. I realise that's not the current plan but it has to be considered. 3/1 is a crazy priced double on the horse (a) turning up in the race fit and well and (b) finding nothing to beat him.

|
By:
i think if they went 11/2 they'd be knocked over, so somewhere between the 2 prices is prob right...time may show it was a fair price (ie if the bookies have strong word it defo is going chasing, serious opposition fails to materialise)

|
By:
i spose their is a chance he wont take to fences, but its definitely the plan for next season.
when i asked his trainer at the open day he told me the Arkle would be his target. |

peddlers 8s over summer you value hunters must have filled yr boots early
