How any of you idiots backed this horse today is beyond belief,Feel sorry for you lot at the same time as McCain has really fúcked this horse up big style

Hope he hasn't ruined him long term, will be interesting to see if he goes Champ Hurdle or stayers route next year

I think its a bit stupid to say McCain has knackered the horse.

Yeah, he shouldn't have ran him in the Jewson, but that's hindsight for you.

I don't think Peddlers has been the same since his battle with the Fly in the Champion Hurdle, but that was a really hard race.  Apart from running him in the Jewson, I don't think McCain has done anything wrong with him.  They bought him as a long term chasing prospect and that didn't work, so move on and go back hurdling.

If he were mine, I'd have another crack at the Fighting Fifth and then see from there.  If he wins then he can go down the Champion Hurdle route, and if it looks like he needs further then he could have a few epic battles with Oscar Whisky over 2m4 and then try the Cleeve with a view to going to the World Hurdle.

This season just means he will be a bigger price for his first race back next year Wink

Dont think you will see him up against Oscar Whisky next season.

McCain IMO does put the gun to his horses heads. Some love it (Overturn) and McCain's record is obviously very good. Too soon to write Peddlars off and clearly hurdles could rekindle him, but taking him to Liverpool last yr was the most insane thing immaginable IMO (and even the yr before, though he did win, but had an unnecessary hard race) and I wondered at the time whether that would leave a mark the next time he was asked for an effort. Chances are it probably has not left a mark and he will resume a brilliant hurdling career but this horse has had a few wars already.

McCain has just tweeted that yesterday showed the horse doesn't stay and he will be aimed at Champion Hurdle or the Arkle next season

Above should be in the Overturn topic of course

Sounds like Peddlers starting out in the Ascot Hurdle this season. Two big if's with this horse, the main one being can they get him back, looked a shadow of himself by the end of last season. If they can, does he stay 3 miles? If the answer to both those is yes I think he could be this years 2nd in the World hurdleGrin
