It's a while since Pady has got the opportunity to run on ground this quick, and it's certainly a case of the quicker the better.

It's surprising that he hasn't run at intermediate distances that often (considering he's an Arkle winner and was also viewed as a King George horse). So possible improvement to come at 2m 5f especially at Cheltenham where his Festival form reads 412. All Grade One contests.

Another thing in his favour is that recently, he's led or disputed the lead which this week is a massive positive - very little comparing from off the pace.

The obvious negative is that he's a bridle merchant although the one time he did battle was in the Arkle three years ago so perhaps he thrives on making his way up the hill.

The Ryanair as I've often read on this forum is a race where a dozen horses are only separated by a few pounds. The horse feeling best in himself on the day typically does well. There's a lot in Pady's favour and despite being a 10yo, no surprise if he rolls back the years and grabs a place. 40/1 is quite big in my opinion in what is a typically competitive contest.
