Becoming the forgotten Horse a tad i thought, available at 9s on here,New Tactics will be used according to Joe Tizzard,
Hasnt raced at 2 miles this season,But everyone knows by now Horses who stay a lot further than 2 miles usually win an Arkle,Still a very talented Horse and at the current prices i think i'll side with him
Pause Switch to Standard View is Cue Card the Value in the Arkle?

Am on him.Think he'll jump better with fast pace and better ground and hopefully joe wont **** up.Imo wants a fast 2 miles and will get this here.should at least finish in top 3 barring the worst.gl

My biggest winner of the meeting, I'm sure he is good enough to win an Arkle, but maybe just not this one. I'm still convinced he will come at least second, and that'll will make me a decent amount, but like everyone else I have a feeling we could be about to see a very special horse on Tuesday.
Report Glossy March 7, 2012 9:07 PM GMT
Very good value against Al Ferof with a form line through For Non Stop.

AF beat FNS by a neck at levels weights at Sandown. CC beat FNS conceding 7 lbs at Newbury.
Report horse9 March 7, 2012 9:10 PM GMT
I've backed CC with P Power at 7s what with their Sprinter Sacre offer.
I think he's a pound or two short of top class but we know he acts at Cheltenham and we know he stays well, the fav and Menorah have questions marks against them and whilst I think Al Ferof is the most likely winner I can't back him at 11/4.
You'll get a decent run from Cue Card
Report rothko March 7, 2012 9:11 PM GMT
i,m on with the irish bookie so money back if ss wins
always think you need a real two and half miler and tizzard said he would make it a true run race

only problem is that geraghty is waxing about SS and he has rode some gooduns
Report OnTheSnaff March 7, 2012 9:21 PM GMT
agree with Glossy,Cant be having Al Ferof at around 11/4 and Cue Card at 9s,
Dont think there's much between AF and CC at all,
Report Glossy March 7, 2012 9:26 PM GMT
Meant to say in my post that CC beat FNS by 4 lengths too!

I'm already e/w on Menorah & Blackstairmountain and don't like backing more than 2 in a race but if I did, it would certainly be CC.
Report Glossy March 7, 2012 9:29 PM GMT
I also think that Cue Card could end up a bigger price on the day. I see Menorah being backed in to around 7's and Cue Card taking its price at 10's.
Report TheFormMan March 7, 2012 9:40 PM GMT
cant believe there are people still out there who are willing to back CC in any championship race over 2milesCry
Report OnTheSnaff March 7, 2012 9:43 PM GMT
i think you could be right Glossy,i think a lot of the negativity towards this horse is because of who rides him,a lot of punters just have no confidence in Tizzard what so ever,im not his biggest fan but dont think he's the worst either,Cue Cards price is simply too big wether he has a bad jockey on or not

I think Tizzard takes a lot of unwarranted stick too. Like you say, he's not the best jock out there but far from the worst. Probably best labelled as inconsistent. When he gets it right though, boy does he get it right.
Report yort March 7, 2012 10:06 PM GMT
Maybe Jan Faltijek would be a good replacement for Joe
Report ambrosec March 7, 2012 10:06 PM GMT
I'd backed CC at 10s eachway because i think he has the class to go very close in the Arkle but after looking back at some of his races i've come to the conclusion that he just won't jump round, has fallen at chelt, and ploughed through one at Newbury. So laid off my bets, very good horse but his jumping is not good.

i was actually commenting on the fact that a few people on this thread wrote that they had already backed him and others may back him,not on the OP

Can't give SS or AF 5lbs, which is the penalty which Tizzard in the saddle represents. yort...you know your jockeys!
Report roobuck March 8, 2012 7:03 AM GMT
I played CC twice at 16s and once before AF, SS and PF had run over fences purely on the terms of value and I wouldn't have known which of the three was going to be best.

TFM I really think that the Arkle is the best race for him this year and as for Championship races over 2 miles, he has won one and come fourth in one. SS has yet to win one though that could well change on Tuesday.
Report li March 8, 2012 12:30 PM GMT
I just think it is brilliant that Cue Card and Al Ferof clash for a third consecutive festival; first on the flat, then over hurdles and now, with the score at one each, over fences.
Report TheFormMan March 8, 2012 1:31 PM GMT
Just cant have him over the trip roobuck, just does not have the pace, will travel really well and just plod up the hill while the speedy sorts leave him standing, will not finish in the top 3 even if he gets round,SS,AF,MENORAH and maybe another 1 will beat
Report cruise d March 8, 2012 5:34 PM GMT
I've backed cue card with a refund if SS wins. I only got 7s but I really think it is next best after SS. The arkle tends to favour staying types and even though it is still 2 miles the arkle is very different to the supreme IMO.

It's form puts it at Al Ferof's level this season so at the price I think it's a no brainer personally.
Report buddeliea March 8, 2012 5:35 PM GMT
not concerned about his jumping round Cheltenham with Mr Tizzard on board??
Report judorick March 8, 2012 5:54 PM GMT
people keep saying the Arkle favours staying types but what about Sizing Europe, Moscow Flyer, Well Chief and Azertyuiop all within recent times?

Just think it is evenly split myself
Report cruise d March 8, 2012 6:06 PM GMT
You can think of a negative for nearly every horse in the race and every horse full stop though. In this Arkle....

SS - Could be a flat track horse. Didn't stay up the hill last year.
Menorah - Cant stand up in a 3 runner race never mind the Arkle
Al Ferof - form no better than CCs this year. Last run wasn't inspiring

There are pros and cons to every selection. In terms of value though at double the price of Al Ferof and money back if SS wins I'm happy to back CC.
Report buddeliea March 8, 2012 6:44 PM GMT

Dont think Cue Card jumps round
Report call it a day March 8, 2012 8:46 PM GMT
What is definitely in the horse's favour is trainer and jockey form. Stable sending out a constant stream of winners...amd Joe is riding really well. He was fabulous at Sandown a couple of weeks ago, and again at Newbury on Saturday.Today he managed to make Golden Cheftain look like an assured jumper!! His confidence must be sky high.
At about 10-1 there is huge value in the horse. As has already been mentioned, on a line through For Non Stop there is every chance of beating Al Ferof. Can we trust the well being of the Nicholls horses? Obviously the jolly is a beast but Cue Card has decent form this year despite clouting a few.If it can put in a clean round it can win. And Tizzard sceptics please remember...he has an Arkle already in the locker.
Report Hibore March 8, 2012 8:59 PM GMT
Front running has made a man of Cue Card. Watch the Supreme last year and he pulled harder than any horse in the field sitting mid div. He has such a high cruising speed that he is always going one step too quick and therefore uses unnecessary stamina.

Watch the race at Cheltenham with Grand Crus when he is also held up. Pulled the whole way.

Sprinter may be the next coming but 8/1 or 9/1 on here for CC is exceptional value.

Report buddeliea March 9, 2012 7:48 AM GMT
Problem with that is SS has a good chance of not settling in this small runner field, and is imo highly likely to pull himself to the front fairly early in the race.
Good chance these 2 will set the race up for AF,thats how i see it possibly panning out and the reason i was chuffed that CC was declared for this race.

Following Kings Theatre's progeny at Cheltenham over races at 2m-2m1f is profitable, he recorded another Festival winner here last season thanks to Captain Chris – a victory that took this particular stallion’s statistics over 2m-2m1f here to 9-50 for a +£35 level stakes profit.
