this may be a stupid question but if you back a horse on here and it gets balloted out do you lose your money?

Can't be a ballot system surely.  Imagine if horses like Darlan didn't get in

Only 24 can run, so I believe there is some sort of order, hopefully by official rating? I can't seem to find anything. Its not alphabetical cos ACrazyllure Of Illusion was balloted out of last season's bumper

Got some concise clarification thanks to betfair....

I can confirm that the handicapper makes an assessment of each horse, and the worst rated horses will be balloted out should there be more declarations than the safety limit. If you wish to find out which ones are eligible for balloting out, then you can look on the Racing Post website and sort the Supreme Novices card in OR (official rating) order, you will see numbers 1-9 next to 9 runners names, with Ericht having a 9, signifying he will be the last to be balloted out (so needs one to come out). Catch Tammy has a 1 by his name so is first ballot and therefore needs 9 to come out.

Excellent feedback from them I thoughtHappy

Am a little concerned to see that my fancy Allure Of Illusion needs two to come outSurprisedSurprised

How can he possibly be the 26th best in the entries!!

He got balloted out of the Bumper last year... Please not again!!!!!
