Balgarry makes his debut for David Pipe in the 3.45 at Newbury tomorrow. He currently trades at a top price of 3/1f for the race. He showed decent form in France and won impressively on his final start. He joined David at the beginning of last season but picked up an injury before he had a chance to run. He was however, given a positive mention in his pre season stable tour and is also tipped up by the West Country in the training centres tomorrow, so it is hoped he's been showing a fair bit at home.

He is currently entered at Cheltenham in the Coral Cup as well as the Martin Pipe race and off his mark of 129 he is likely to need a penalty to get in. Also the Pipes would also only be likely to run him if he was to win well tomorrow. He could be anything and if he wins well tomorrow his price will free fall. If he doesnt, I'd be confident he wouldn't run so it looks like a bet to nothing (touch wood). The Pipe have often run horses at Cheltenham under penalties, though usually from the Imperial Cup.

He is available at joint top price with NRNB firms and looks a potential bet for nothing at 25/1 and 20/1 respectively.

1pt E/W Coral Cup 25/1 NRNB (365, Lad, VC)
1pt E/W Martin Pipe 20/1 NRNB (VC)

Good shout and good luck. Strange weakness in the market today. Typical massive overreaction from bookmakers given that he now has to back up quickly, over a different trip in a far more competitive race. I think it would be crazy to think of backing him at the reduced prices which represent no value whatsoever.

Thanks.

Would imagine the Martin Pipe would be the favoured option, allowing him to have a nice break of 13 days. The fact that the Pipe's didn't even both enter him in the County Hurdle would suggest they think he's better over slightly further than today, or I hope anyway!

good spot. there's another opportunity like this with master of the arts in the county, although the biggest price is 16 with lb.
if he wins the imperial or comes close he could start around 6's
you'd have to be confident he has a good chance being pipes only runner.

a side note on another thread g elliot gave  it as his charity bet while still 25's and he picked junior last year.
Im backing it E/W anyway gl
