^^^^

I share the despair if that's the case, just personally hope they don't run First Lieutenant in the Jewson now!!

No mention of Pique Sous in the Bumper triumvirate either...

All is not lost. These are Gigginstown's best two novice chasers (still in one piece) and even though the trainer may want to run SDC in the RSA, the owners may not. A switch seems most unlikely to me, as I can't see it being on the radar for FL.
They could of course put them both in the RSA but owners do tend to prefer their horses to run in different races wherever there is a feasible alternative - remember Captain Chris and Wishfull Thinking last year?

In SDC they have the second fav in an alternative race (Jewson) so it's hopefully tempting to keep them apart this year at least.

Not sure how old these interviews were as it seems strange that he mentioned Terminal as one of his possibles for Supreme (obviously no chance now), so  presumably these interviews took place before 15th February?

Would treat all with a bit of caution Whoops

Pipey,....O'Leary, the owner leaves it up to the trainers to decide.  Remember War Of Attrition...everyone thought he would go for the Ryan Air but trainer decided the Gold Cup.

Fair point, but did that mean running two in the Gold Cup and none in the Ryanair? You couled argue that it's a different situation this time.

Gigginstown had more than one runner in the RSA before, and they frequently do it in Ireland.

dxb....yes, stated in his stable tour he thought SDC was an RSA horse.....personally I think it is the right choice for him.  He won over 2m 5f last year at the festival and is a stronger horse this year so he should improve for another step up in trip.
As for Gigginstown...they definately would run two in the same race.  they have done this many time is big races, O'Leary knows its just part of the business.
