Trainer of New Years Eve told my father that he"s good enough to win a listed race. If so he must have a great chance albeit he is only a 4yo

That may well be true... and he looks like a flat horse. But those types have a pretty poor record in this race. Tough against the stouter NH types.

remember Rite of Passage later won a Group 1 on the flat but could manage only 3rd here

I'd hope he was good enough to win a grade 1 if I was to back him! Done nothing wrong thus far though.

What sort of listed race are we talking about - 1m2f 6 runners? Twenty plus runners round Cheltenham will be a totally different ball game - so far the horse has done little more than show he has a useful change of pace.
