Sunnyhillboy am pleasantly surprised has been on offer here at 20/1 for Kim Muir
Had some of this ew and had a bit at the standout 16/1 with billy hills ew
This horse is better than this race with Maurice Linehan surely booked for this horse, top amateur rider.
Two years ago 6/1f at the festival beat by Great Endeavour off near enough level weights beat 1 1/4l
Last year 9/2f when fell in 3m 1f race both these races were class 1 events
finished 3rd last year in Irish Grand National.
Yes he is towards the top of the weights, yes this season he has pulled up on his chase run, his hurdles races havent been too disgusting tho and his hdcp mark is v attractive now.
I believe even if the National is his aim he will need to show something 30 days before the event to justify going. This field is poor in comparison to what he has been running against
Will probably wake up tomorrow and find him a non runner but as things stand this has the hallmarks of a major plunge imo.
Was thinking along similar lines.Has all the hallmarks of a gamble given the way he has attracted money in the past, and was ridden by Alan Berry last time also so i'd suspect he may be on in the Kim Muir. Only reservation i would have is that he also holds an entry in the pertemps and if managing to sneak in at the bottom of the weights(46 on the list)he would be arguably be even more interesting. He is 7lb lower over hurdles than fences and managed to win 4 out of 7 in his novice year over hurdles including a valuable handicap at the aintree festival off a mark of 133.

I'm with magic carpet on this one and have backed him for the Pertemps NRNB.
Two of his three runs this year have been over hurdles resulting in his mark reducing from 142 to 135, which suggests to me that is the route they will go down at Cheltenham. He has been an underachiever over fences in the last few years, but he will only be 2lb higher here than his last class 1 handicap hurdle win at Aintree.

However is it ideal to go so long without jumping a fence am not convinced maybe your right though.
Just have a feeling he could land a right touch in the Kim Muir without much of an effort, of course he could try and land the pertemps but if he is using it as a prep seems a bit strange to me.
Two hurdles races before Aintree maybe just would have expected the stable to want him to jump a fence and get him readied for National.
Pertemps way more competitive than the Kim Muir if they are going anywhere at Chelt personally believe this should be his option.
PF obviously a concern he is shorter for pertempsHowever is it ideal to go so long without jumping a fence am not convinced maybe your right though. Just have a feeling he could land a right touch in the Kim Muir without much of an effort, of course
To anyone thinking about backing Sunnyhillboy for the GN, I would strongly advise they view his run at Cheltenham in December again. To my eyes a lamentable performance, made worse by shocking jumping errors.

and what has that go to do with backing horses on a profile? Comply or Die ran terribly on seasonal debut and was pulled up the year he won the National. Form is only one of many elements that go into a National winner
