I have 4 shortlisted and Champagne Fever wasn't one of those. Can't see why you would think it has the race sewn up

Henderson has a poor record in this race oddly.
|
|
By:
well yes he has but this horse is a good thing ,but there is a good chance of new years eve finshing strong at 12/1 this is a great bet

Henderson hates the race, and basically refuses to send his best horses there. Unless the owner are determined to have a runner in the race I generally thought he opted to send them to Aintree or Newbury. May not have the correct understanding, but that was the way I saw it.
Personally Population or Royal Guardsman for me. |

Yeah, he was quoted last year talking about Ericht as saying "I f****** hate the f****** race", though according to Tom Symonds that's because he's never won it!
I like Population as well but I'm worried by the big hike in his price last week. Has something been said about him being a NR? |

Haha... Yeah I thought it was something like that!!!
Yeah I noticed that, have a small voucher on him atm. Wont be topping that up until raceday. Most of the talk I have read recently has been regarding his other bumper horse New Year Eve which is even more worrying. I thought the plan was to run him in the bumper Royal Guardsman won, so perhaps he has had a set back. I really liked the way he won his races, thought his style would really suit the race. You at Newbury Saturday? |

look as i say only one horse is going to win this race Champagne Fever and ew bets is new years eve 12/1 and my tent or yours 16/1

Yes I will be - though it's all a phoney war now until the Imperial Cup!

I'll be collecting my membership Saturday :-) The Vetrans chase is potentially quite decent, agreed thought the racing is quite ropey... I know the conditions of the race are quite strict but the quality of the bumper doesn't look too high.
Ooo and Population doesn't have an entry... Quite annoying! Personally I'm not so keen on Champagne Fever worry he may get caught flat footed. |

yes new years will go well but will it finish like that with the cheltenham hill i can't see it go on ,

Of Mullins I thought Pique Sous was the more visually impressive. Royal Guardsman was impressive at Ascot and the time he was beaten there were legitimate excuses (allegedly struck accross the face). Clonbanan Lads dismissal of Mozoltov was more impressive if you are to believe that the Mullins horse was well regarded prior to that race and interestingly it has been entered (Ive long since given up trying to guess WM in any race never mind a bumper). At a bigger price Oliver Sherwoods Many Clouds has run 1 race at Wetherby and the manner of the victory was taking. No idea if they would consider running at the festival but could be very good but that one really is a shot in the dark.
