Only two so far but pretty sure I will rack up another 6/7 by kick-off

Spirit Son (14/1)
Fingal Bay (10/1)

I think I need to ignore Henderson ante-post as something seems to happen every year.

Sam Winner for the Arkle at 50/1

Fists of Fury was bads news today and Peddler's Cross (arkle) might be added to that list soon!!

"Donald McCain could look to the Jewson Novices' Chase at the Cheltenham Festival for Peddlers Cross should his stable star not take his chance in his preferred target, the Racing Post Arkle."

PC will go in the Arkle Harvey.

Last Instalment by a long long way. Had started backing him straight after last year's festival for the RSA. Really thought he would have beaten Grands Crus as I'm convinced that Grands Crus is not a genuine stayer.

Backed Fists of Fury last week, and Shutthefrontdoor a little further back. The latter still looks the best bumper horse on form.

@ leybk.. how could any1 think grand crus isnt a stayer ?? look what he did running big bucks to a lenght in the world hurdle. if ur looking at his last run at kempton thinking he weakened on the run in.. he was entightled to.he ran that race a whole 4seconds quicker than kauto did the the king george same going, same track same day!! kauto would only be jumpin the last as he crossed line. grand crus looks the winner of the rsa hands don to me,price is v skinny thou and if he ran in the g cup if he jumped well he would be there or there abouts..IMO.

In the belief that confession is good for the soul this is my tale of woe.
After Ranjaan won at taunton I panic backed it for the triumph at 12/1 ,shortly afterwards it was 14/1
,at this point connections said they were to go for the Triumph. After the horse it beat at taunton (third intention) ran poorly in the betfair hurdle I decided to lay some back at a price above what I had.
Within a week Third intention had won and I changed my mind again and decided to back it. I then saw that
Nicholls had entered the horse in the Fred winter so laid some of my bet back again.
The upshot of it is that I'm left with a bet at under it's present odds and likely to be even bigger on the day and that may not even run.

Surprisingly good at present.

One leg of a e/w Yankee down the tubes (Rubi Light, Gold Cup) and Oscars Well in the World Hurdle (for buttons but at huge odds) but other than that everything else is still A) alive and B) Declared for their respective races.

Only decent sized bet down the pan is Fingal Bay at 8s.

Most are still alive, including some longshots - that actually concerns me that I have another kick or two in the gut to come

Nothing this year but I backed Cork all star for last year's fox hunter after a good performance in a points meeting. Decided they would rather run it at Punchestown. Was gutted Sad

Not great Hinterland won't run in the FW and Kauto won't run in the GC

2 words:

Kauto Star Cry

Had 33/1 for the King George/Gold Cup double.

Was just looking over my AP bets this afternoon, and feeling pretty pleased with myself.

Then the Kauto news put a very different slant on things. At least the horse is in one piece which is the main thing.

However, my largest AP bet is on Grands Crus at 6/1 for the RSA and I also have a smaller amount on Kauto @ 15 for the GC.

Not the end of the world, as I have a few other good bets still running, but a win for Grands Crus in the RSA covers my entire AP book.

Last week Fingal Bay was a massive blow to many peoples AP bets. I have Simonsig at 25/1 for the Neptune though so that bit of misfortune massively improved that bet.

Swings and roundabouts as always with our Cheltenham AP books!

Also had Fists of Fury at 14/1 but could easily be compensated with Monksland 14/1 now tops 8/1 and Grumeti 10/1 now 5s

I do however think Montbazon in the supreme will get me off to a flyer. 10/1 nr no bet Laddies
Report wakey55 March 1, 2012 6:41 PM GMT
relatively happy until today, my main Bets Peddlers (Arkle), Grands Crus (RSA), Sirs des Champs (Jewson)

Now Kauto is injured GC is likely to reroute, PC is clearly leaning now towards Jewson which ruins my Arkle bet and hinders my Sirs des Champs bet. Just when it seems to be going along nicely.
