I had early season thoughts of Third Intention for this after his run in the Greatwood; lost all faith now to be honest so expect him to run well!

Third Intention looked impressive today.Proven on good ground, now shown gets the trip and decent run in the Truimph last year suggests track ok
Trainer suggesting its either this or County Hurdle but would be very interested if he turns up in this.

can't have done its handicap mark much good after winning today?

Agree probably a bit too impressive.Hope the handicapper is'nt to harsh

I've always liked this horse since I saw him win on debut at Newbury and I backed him for the Betfair a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if he's blown a workable handicap mark today? I think he might go up to around 155, which would put him in that awkward position of being too high in the weights for decent handicap hurdles but not good enough for quality graded races.

Orsippus has solid festival form, still on same mark as when 3rd last year and has run very nice trials last 2 runs. Each way chance at 33s.

Id backed Third Intention at big prices for the Coral Cup before yesterdays race, as i was convinced he needed to go up trip. Had yesterdays race been one day later then would have only got a 5lb penalty, but he looks sure to get more than that now. Im hoping they put Brendon Powell Jr on to take 5lb off & i think he would still have a decent chance.

I like American Trilogy at 33/1 or maybe 20/1 NRNB. He ran pretty well in the Lanzarote last time, and his record in big field hurdles is really good, and he's on the same mark as when hacking in the County a couple of seasons ago. He also jumped left a lot in the Lanzarote so should be better back around Cheltenham and there must be a decent chance he has Ruby on board.

Module fits a whole bunch of trends to keep the Betting Guide onanists happy, plus he's won at Cheltenham, in a fast time, over shorter (which, perversely, is a good sign) in a big-field handicap. Is young and unexposed and whilst 14/1 isn't a sexy price it'll do for me.

Oh and his trainer knows the time of day too

Module for me as well. Missed the 16s by waiting too long. As he also has entries in the County and the MP it will be a case of NRNB covers once they become available.

Paddy Brennan said on Atr today, this is the intended target for Module, Olofi for the County and Sivola de Sivola the Pertemps (A.Bartlett if he doesn't get in)

How likely is it that Poole Master will get a run?

Where will the cut off be - some nice horses low in the handicap but am really worried as to whether anything under 10 st 6 lb is going to get a run - will need half of the entries above them in the weights to pull out ....realistic?

A big blow to my AP book

It had to happen!

Why do I always get suckered into AP bets on Cheltenham handicaps. Plenty of money to be made once the day-of-race decs are out, but every year I have to try to be a smartar$e!

Because we all do it Roger!

The only consolation I can offer is that sometimes the most promising AP books tend to prove worthless while those you carry into the festival with little hope can occasionally exceed expectations.

In my case I have laid out 40 points this year. Module takes 4 of those out, another 3 go west if SDC goes for the RSA Chase, Boston Bob lining up anywhere but the Neptune wipes off another 2 out and I fear greatly for my two biggest bets Brindisi Breeze (5) and Urbain de Sivola (another 5) even showing up. All in all a pretty poor attempt

David Pipe - Our Father could run in this or Pertemps. Got to improve but has a big reputation. Big horse will carry weight. Thinks he will stay 3 mile or has the speep for 2 and a half.

Philip Hobbs - Dare Me and Featherbed Lane are intended runners. Dare Me may be eight but he is still improving. Dunraven Storm was a possible but returned lame from Ascot so may not go anywhere at Cheltenham.

Davy Russell - Toner Doudaries

Paul Nicholls - Nothing in Coral Cup unless King Of The Night runs.

Joe Tizzard - Third Intention runs in Coral Cup but not happy with rise in weights. Didn't think it was a gd National Spirit hurdle.

Kevin O’Ryan - talked up Gordon Elliott’s Toner D'Oudairies in the Coral Cup but he has been backed into favouritism.

Gordon Elliott - His best chances of a winner are ... Toner D'Ouderies(really likes him in the Coral Cup).

But where will the cut off be - I like Dare Me but will he get in - he is number 70 on the list of entries.

Bottom 6 look very interesting off those weights!

Saphir River at 33/1 looks a decent bet to me.  Connections paid a lot of money for this Grade 1 runner up in France.  Not saying he will definitely win as it is trained by Michael Scudamore, but if it was a Nicholls horse it would be one of the favourites.
