Rancid stable for late information, like his horses like most of us, but his updates or lack of them wonder how much money these guys making for nothing on non runners like Spirit Son, Binocular etc.

It's a gambling stable what do you expect? Apart form Paul Nicholls who else is helpful in the racing world? And the reason for that is because Betfair are lining his pocket for god knows how much.

It was only yesterday, or the day before that he was quoted as saying that if it did miss Cheltenham then it wouldn't be due to it's current problem. The market on here told a different story.

Henderson said: "We've had a slight change of plan with the Kingwell Hurdle at Wincanton on Saturday.

"Grandouet has unfortunately gone and banged a hind leg in his box overnight and can't run, but he's perfectly all right and he's just had to have some medication to clear it up.

"Hopefully he'll be perfectly all right in three or four days time, the timing of it is just unfortunate.

The horse has probably just done the best piece of work ever seen on the Seven Barrows gallops.

Amazing how, whether it be Zaynar or Grandouet or Spirit Son, that Binocular always ends up being ... the chosen one in the Champion Hurdle.

If Henderson had Pegasus in his stable with Binocular, his leading owners horse in his favourite race the Champion Hurdle, I would based on the last several years rather eat my own hand than back Pegasus for the Champion Hurdle. Quids in already.

Tbf, im on binocular at 10s, OW at 25s and HF at 9/4 so although its a body blow, i cant afford anymore mishaps!

Did anyone ever consider that the horse's condition may have deteriorated / not responded to treatment? He is hopeless IMO at keeping the public up to date, like 99% of trainers, but does anyone think NJH sits in front of Betfair laying horses or making money out of laying them? Unbelievable.

I've got this mental picture of him in an office, hunched over a laptop, wearing a trilby and cackling. It's really tickled me, I can't stop laughing.

a few weeks ago Graham Cunningham referred to NJH as 'the Ronnie Corbett soundalike' which also raised a giggle.

The thing is Carver someone has been sitting hunched over a computer ,(with or without trilby) hovering up on this horse which was given a positive report for Cheltenham just a couple of days ago.  Someone who presumably knew that the horses condition was somewhat different.

What about OW for the Ch Hurdle
By:
R Carver
When: 21 Feb 12 18:24
DD I would not that one way or another money talks from that outfit.
By:
R Carver
When: 21 Feb 12 18:27
As I say, i think their media skills are quite poor, and whilst the bulletin on Saturday was quite positive, anyone backing it on that basis needs their head reading IMO. If a horse bangs a leg, even if the immediate prognosis seems ok, knowing how things can deteriorate quickly, I would have thought it prudent to wait and see...
By:
R Carver
When: 21 Feb 12 18:29
* Should read - I would not dispute that one way or another money appears to talk from that outfit
By:
Dark Destroyer
When: 21 Feb 12 18:32
True that would be no justification for jumping in to back the horse, however those who left their existing backs up on the assumption that the report was reliable (choosing my words carefully) have been royally screwed by someone who knew otherwise.

I know nothing about horse training but the idea that an athlete having surgery is then able to ran in a championship race 3 weeks later seems unbelievable. We'll see.

Unless the operation is very minor, like the one GMOOH 'had' last season.
