i first went to the festival when meladon won the triumph hurdle, can anyone remember what year that was?.

my best year punting at the festival was when little owl won the gold cup, the worst was when wayward lad got beat.

must be old eh!

35 years ago flippng heck i am old, but still going!!

used to have some great nights in the queens, remember the night the owner trainer and jockey of monksfield came in and had a party after winning the champion hurdle, the party went on well into daylight.

the poker schools in there were legendary, popped in last year for a drink but sadly no longer the place it used to be.

Ronnie - Ruling was many years later than you think...maybe you're not that much of an old-timer after all Happy

Ruling was 3rd in Morley Street's Champion Hurdle (1991), and also 3rd in Royal Gait's Champion Hurdle (1992)
